1985 Saab 900 Turbo Sedan 5-Speed

This 1985 Saab 900 Turbo sedan is finished in silver over maroon leather upholstery and is powered by a turbocharged and intercooled 2.0-liter inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transmission. Additional equipment includes a power sunroof, fog lights, 15” Sunburst alloy wheels, air conditioning, power windows, cruise control, a lockable glovebox, and a Clarion cassette stereo with an equalizer. The car received replacement valve cover gaskets, auxiliary fan timer relay, distributor seal, power steering hoses, and air conditioning Schrader valves in 2020 and was acquired by the seller in November 2022. This 900 Turbo shows 93k miles and is offered with the manufacturer’s literature and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in silver and features a power sunroof, fog lights, sealed-beam headlights, impact bumpers, and mud flaps. The driver’s side electric mirror does not work and corrosion is evident in the left-rear wheel well. Creases are found on the left side of the front bumper.

Silver-finished 15” Sunburst alloy wheels are wrapped in 195/60 Delinte DH2 tires. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes. The caliper seals, pads, and rotors were replaced in 2018.

The front bucket seats and rear bench are trimmed in maroon leather and are complemented by color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Additional appointments include air conditioning, power windows, cruise control, a lockable glovebox, and a Clarion cassette stereo with a graphic equalizer. There are cracks in the dashboard and the front seats show creasing.

The three-spoke steering wheel fronts VDO instrumentation consisting of a 130-mph speedometer, a tachometer with an inset clock, and gauges for boost pressure, engine temperature, and fuel level, the latter of which does not work. The six-digit odometer shows 93k miles, approximately 300 of which were added under current ownership.

The turbocharged and intercooled 2.0-liter inline-four features Bosch LH-Jetronic fuel injection and was factory rated at 160 horsepower and 188 lb-ft of torque. Service performed since 2020 included replacing the air conditioning Schrader valves, valve cover gasket, coolant temperature sensor, auxiliary fan timer relay, distributor seal, and power steering hoses as well as adjusting the timing and recharging the air conditioning. A California smog emissions inspection was performed in December 2022. The engine is seeping oil.

Power is sent to the front wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle. The clutch and flywheel assembly were replaced in 2018. Additional photos of the underside are displayed in the gallery.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or damage and lists history in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and California from the first entry in 1991.
