This 1986 AMC Eagle wagon is finished in Garnet Metallic over red vinyl and patterned cloth upholstery and is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six mated to a three-speed automatic transmission and a single-speed transfer case. Equipment includes a roof rack, rear receiver hitch, independent front suspension, power-assisted front disc brakes, air conditioning, cruise control, and a Pioneer CD stereo. The car spent time in Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin before being acquired by the seller in May 2021. Subsequent work is said to have consisted of replacing the radiator and exhaust along with overhauling the air conditioning system. This Eagle wagon is now offered with an accident-free Carfax report and a clean New York title in the seller’s name.
The body is finished in Garnet Metallic (3P) with gold pinstripes and features a roof rack, a receiver hitch, a rear wiper, body-color wheel-arch flares, and chrome bumpers.
The 15″ wheels are mounted with 205/70 General Altimax RT tires. Stopping power is provided by power-assisted disc brakes up front and drums out back.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in red vinyl and patterned cloth along with red carpets and woodgrain trim on the dashboard and door panels. Appointments include a remote-adjustable left mirror, manual-crank windows, a retractable cargo cover, air conditioning, cruise control, and a Pioneer CD stereo.
The steering wheel is fitted with an aftermarket lace-up cover and frames an 85-mph speedometer, supplementary gauges for fuel and temperature, and a quartz clock. The six-digit odometer shows 31k miles. A potential odometer rollover is noted in a 2000 entry on the Carfax report. True mileage is unknown.
The 4.2-liter inline-six is equipped with a two-barrel carburetor and was factory rated at 112 horsepower and 210 lb-ft of torque. According to the seller, the radiator was replaced in 2021 along with the air conditioning compressor, condenser, expansion valve, and receiver/drier.
Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission and a single-speed transfer case. The seller notes the exhaust system was replaced in 2021. Corrosion is visible on underside components, additional photos of which can be viewed in the gallery.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage, lists the potential odometer rollover, and displays history in Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, and New York.
