This Fiat X1/9 got away, but there are more like it here.

This 1986 Bertone X1/9 is powered by a mid-mounted 1.5-liter SOHC inline-four mated to a five-speed manual transaxle and it is finished in red over tan cloth and black vinyl upholstery. Equipment includes a removable black roof panel, pop-up headlights, 13″ Cromodora alloy wheels, air conditioning, power windows, and a Kenwood stereo. The car has been registered in Connecticut and California and was sold on BaT in November 2017 and again in October 2018 before the seller’s purchase on BaT in July 2019. This X1/9 shows 35k miles and is now offered at no reserve with manufacturer’s literature, a period brochure, spare parts, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

After Fiat exited the US market in 1982, Bertone assumed manufacturing responsibility for the X1/9 and continued to sell the car in the US until 1989. This example is finished in red and features a removable black roof panel that can be stowed in the front trunk. Silver-finished 13″ Cromodora alloy wheels with plastic Bertone-logo center covers wear Hankook Optimo H724 tires that were mounted in 2018. The car is equipped with fully independent suspension and four-wheel disc brakes.

The bolstered bucket seats are upholstered in tan fabric with black vinyl trim, accompanied by matching door panels and a black dashboard and center console. Additional appointments include air conditioning, power windows, and a Kenwood stereo with Bluetooth.

The three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames Veglia Borletti instrumentation consisting of a 140-mph speedometer, a reverse-sweep 8k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for voltage, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 35k miles, approximately 700 of which were added under current ownership.
