This Fiat X1/9 got away, but there are more like it here.

This 1986 Fiat X1/9 spent its life in Nevada, Oregon, and California before being acquired last December by the selling dealer. Powered by a 1498cc OHC inline-four paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox, the car was given a repaint in its original black by a previous owner and is fitted with lime green leather upholstery. It is believed to have been well-maintained throughout its life and was given an oil service by the seller following his purchase. The car is offered at no reserve with a clear Carfax and a clean Pennsylvania title.

The Black paintwork is believed by the seller to be an older repaint. Though some lifting in the clearcoat is noted along the passenger front fender, the bodywork is said to be free of any rust bubbling or signs of filler and, per the Carfax report remains free of accidents. 14” Campagnolo alloys show curb rash and come fitted with a matching set of Yokohoma tires.

Shortly after the introduction of the 1500 model in 1982, production of the Gandini-styled X1/9 was assumed by Bertone, resulting in Bertone badging placed on the X1/9 for the remainder of its production run. This example’s have been replaced with Fiat badging. The video above provides a brief walk-around of the car.

Though the A/C system is said to be complete and has been converted to R134a, it is presently inoperable. The odometer shows 93k miles and is believed accurate. Qualities unique to the Bertone-produced models include redesigned footwells for improved leg room and comfort as well as a dash mounted signature plaque.

Modifications to the 1498cc OHC inline-four are said to be limited to the installation of an aftermarket air filter and Abarth-style muffler. Though service history is not available, an inspection by the seller notes the engine does not smoke and that the 5-speed manual transmission shifts properly.

The car is said to run and drive well, with the seller placing around 50 miles on it since his purchase. The video above shows this X1/9 at startup and idle.
