This 1986 Jeep CJ-7 has remained registered in California from new and was acquired by the seller’s spouse in 2023. The truck is finished in white with blue vinyl graphics, and power is provided by a fuel-injected 4.0L inline-six linked with a five-speed manual transmission, a dual-range transfer case, and locking front and rear differentials. The interior houses front bucket seats trimmed in black upholstery as well as a slide-out rear storage drawer. Additional equipment includes 15″ American Racing wheels, 33″ tires, a black hardtop, a winch, steel bumpers, KC auxiliary lights, a roof rack, a receiver hitch, and a Smittybilt air compressor. This CJ-7 is now offered at no reserve by the seller with an accident-free Carfax report and a California title in the name of the seller’s spouse.
The truck left the factory in Olympic White and wears blue vinyl decals and lettering. The black hardtop was repainted under previous ownership, and further exterior details include a winch, KC auxiliary lights, black wheel-arch flares, steel bumpers, rear mud flaps, and a receiver hitch as well as a roof rack with an awning.
Alloy 15″ American Racing wheels are wrapped with 33×12.50″ Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ tires, and a spare is mounted to the swing-out tailgate. The truck is fitted with manually locking front hubs and a suspension lift kit. Stopping power is provided by front disc and rear drum brakes.
The cabin features bucket seats trimmed in black upholstery along with a color-coordinated dashboard and door panels. Controls for the air compressor, locking differentials, and auxiliary lighting are mounted below the dashboard, and additional equipment includes a locking center console, a passenger-side grab handle, and Jeep-branded rubber floor mats. The radio has been removed along with various climate control switches.
The four-spoke Grant steering wheel is mounted left of an 85-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and supplementary instrumentation for coolant temperature, fuel level, battery voltage, and oil pressure. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 210 miles. A March 2004 entry on the Carfax report notes a potential odometer rollover, and a May 2020 entry lists the mileage as 219,500. Total mileage is unknown.
The rear bench seat was removed and a slide-out storage drawer was fitted in addition to a Smittybilt air compressor, a power inverter, and a fire extinguisher.
The factory carbureted 4.2L inline-six was replaced with a fuel-injected 4.0L unit from a later model Jeep under previous ownership. An aluminum radiator with electric puller fans has also been added. An oil change was performed in June 2023.
Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a five-speed manual transmission, a dual-range transfer case, and locking front and rear differentials. Corrosion is visible on various underbody components.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in California from an initial entry in April 1989. The aforementioned March 2004 entry lists a potential odometer rollover, and the vehicle was designated as a Gross Polluter in March 2006, May 2008, and March 2016.
