This 1986 Volvo 240DL was originally purchased from Parkway Pontiac-Volvo of Chesapeake, Virginia, in 1985 and remained in Virginia until 2018 when it was acquired by the seller. Finished in blue over blue cloth upholstery, it is powered by a 2.3-liter inline-four and paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. Features include air conditioning and a JVC CD stereo. This 240DL shows 141k miles and is offered at no reserve with all-weather floor mats, manufacturer’s literature, service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean North Carolina title in the seller’s name.
The exterior is finished in blue with a matching front spoiler and black lower trim, impact bumpers, and mud flaps. Bright trim accents the belt-line rub strips and drip rails. The seller states that the taillights have been replaced as well as the muffler, horn, and the antenna. A rub mark and cracking paint are noted on the left-rear quarter panel along with rust in the trunk storage well.
Steel 14″ wheels wear factory covers and are wrapped in mixed 185/70 Goodyear Viva 2 and Sailun Attrezzo SH406 tires. The tie rods are said to have been replaced under current ownership, and the seller notes that one wheelcover does not match the other three.
The interior is trimmed in blue cloth and features manual crank windows, a modern JVC head unit linked to door-mounted speakers, replacement door pockets, and air conditioning. The driver’s seatbelt buckle has cracked plastic and holes are present in the seat fabric on the passenger and rear driver-side seats. Cracking is noted on the dashboard underneath the carpeted dash cover, chrome is coming off the shift lever, and the rear power locks do not work properly. The seller states there are electrical issues, and the air conditioning is said to have been recharged in May 2021. An aftermarket horn has been installed, and the factory horns are included in the sale.
Instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 141k miles, approximately 3k of which have been added by the seller.
The fuel-injected 2.3L inline-four sends power to the rear wheels through an AW70 four-speed automatic transmission. The seller states that Performance Auto Specialists of Wilmington, North Carolina, installed a replacement radiator, water pump, downshift cable, timing belt, thermostat, distributor cap and rotor, spark plugs and wires, and power steering hoses. The muffler is said to have been replaced under current ownership. Additional photos of the underside are provided in the gallery below.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in Virginia and North Carolina.
