17k-Mile 1988 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am GTA

This 1988 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am GTA was reportedly acquired from the original owner by the selling company in 2005 and now shows 17k miles. Power comes from a fuel-injected 5.7-liter V8 mated to a four-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. The car is finished in black over matching leather upholstery and is equipped with the GTA package, featuring 16″ diamond-spoke alloy wheels, a monochromatic paint scheme, and unique badging. Additional equipment includes air conditioning, a factory cassette stereo, a Borla exhaust, and a K&N air filter system. Service performed in 2022 is said to have included replacing the rear spoiler, the coolant reservoir, and the fuel filter. This third-generation Firebird is now offered with an accident-free Carfax report and a clean New Jersey title in the name of the selling corporation.

The car is finished in black and is fitted with matching bumpers, ground effects, and a replacement rear spoiler. Exterior details include GTA badging, gold door molding, and quad exhaust outlets. The seller states the car was ordered new without side badging and the antenna needs to be replaced. Paint blemishes are present on the hood and driver-side door, close-up photos of which are provided in the gallery.

Gold-finished 16” diamond-spoke wheels have polished lips and WS6-branded center caps and wear 245/50 Goodyear Eagle VR50 tires. The car came equipped from the factory with four-wheel disc brakes and the WS6 performance handling package.

The cabin features front bucket seats upholstered in black leather. Amenities include air conditioning, cruise control, power windows, and a factory cassette stereo. The headliner is sagging on the driver-side, there is a scratch on the center console, and the trunk tonneau cover is missing its handle.

A multifunction steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The six-digit odometer shows 17k miles, approximately 9k of which were added under current ownership.

The 5.7-liter L98 V8 is fed by a Tuned Port Injection and is modified with a K&N air intake system and a Borla exhaust. Service in 2022 is said to have included replacing the coolant reservoir and the fuel filter as well as an oil change. The hood insulation is torn.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. The seller notes corrosion on the front suspension components. Additional underbody pictures are provided in the gallery.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or damage, an open June 1990 manufacturer’s safety recall pertaining to the seat belt knuckles, and history in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
