25-Years-Owned 1988 Pontiac Firebird Formula WS6

This 1988 Pontiac Firebird Formula was purchased by the seller in May 1998, and it has subsequently resided in New York. It wears a repaint in blue over Medium Dark Gray cloth and is powered by a fuel-injected 5.0-liter V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. Features include a limited-slip differential, a FlowMaster exhaust system, the WS6 Special Performance Package, 16″ cast aluminum wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, a rear spoiler, pop-up headlights, front bucket seats, a Kenwood stereo, Kicker speakers, and cruise control. Recent work is said to have included fluids services, a tune-up, and replacing the battery. This Firebird Formula is now offered with the owner’s manual, a copy of the original dealer invoice, and a clean New York title in the seller’s name.

The car was refinished in blue approximately one year ago, and it features a rear spoiler, a replacement vented hood, a rear spoiler, body-color side mirrors, and pop-up headlights. The rear spoiler was replaced with a fiberglass component. Close-up photographs of the exterior finish and trim are shown in the gallery below.

The refinished 16″ Hi-Tech Turbo cast aluminum wheels are mounted with BFGoodrich g-force Sport Comp-2 tires. Stopping power is provided by power-assisted vented disc brakes at each corner. The car came equipped from the factory with power steering and the WS6 Special Performance Package. The brake calipers and rotors were reportedly replaced under current ownership along with fitting KYB shocks.

The cabin features front bucket seats and folding rear seats trimmed in Medium Dark Gray cloth, and amenities include a rear window defogger, power windows, power locks, and cruise control. A Kenwood stereo and Kicker speakers have been added along with an LED dome light, and the seller notes that the headliner is a replacement.

Instrumentation includes a 140-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for voltage, fuel level, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The six-digit odometer shows 31k miles, approximately 25k of which were added under current ownership. The Carfax report lists a potential odometer rollover in a July 2021 entry, and total mileage is unknown.

The 5.0-liter V8 features Tuned Port Injection for a factory rating of 190 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. Recent work is said to have included fluids services, a tune-up, and replacing the battery as well as fitting a K&N air filter. A FlowMaster exhaust system has been installed.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential with a 3.27:1 final ratio. The seller notes that an undercoating was applied to the car when new, and bed liner was applied to the underside in 2022.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or damage, the aforementioned potential odometer rollover, and registration history in New York.
