This Chevrolet Cavalier got away, but there are more like it here.
This 1989 Chevrolet Cavalier Z24 convertible remained registered in New York until it was acquired by the seller in 2021, and it now has 32k miles. The car is finished in blue with silver lower body cladding over a blue cloth interior and is powered by a 2.8-liter V6 paired with a three-speed automatic transaxle. Equipment includes a blue soft top, Z24-specific bumper covers and rocker panels, a luggage rack, 14″ wheels, power windows and locks, cruise control, and a Delco AM/FM/cassette stereo. This Z24 convertible is now offered at no reserve with a clean Carfax report and a clean Massachusetts title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in blue with Z24-specific silver lower body panels, and features include a blue soft top, a matching top boot, and a hood with two power bulges along with composite headlights, black mirror caps, and a trunk-mounted luggage rack. Exterior imperfections and a tear in the soft top are visible in the gallery below.
Factory 14″ alloy wheels wear 215/60 BFGoodrich Radial T/A white-letter tires showing 2022 date codes, and the seller states that the wheels were refinished and fitted with replacement center caps. Stopping power is provided by front disc and rear drum brakes.
The front bucket seats and rear bench are upholstered in blue cloth with darker inserts. Appointments include power windows and door locks, cruise control, interval wipers, a locking glovebox, and a Delco AM/FM/cassette stereo with an equalizer. The air conditioning is inoperative, and corrosion is noted along the underside of the driver’s door.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames an analog tachometer and digital instrumentation including a speedometer and supplementary readouts. The odometer indicates 32k miles, approximately 20 of which have been added under current ownership.
The 2.8-liter V6 features multi-port fuel injection and produced 135 horsepower and 160 lb-ft of torque when new. Service in 2021 reportedly consisted of an oil change along with the replacement of the battery, idle control valve, intake manifold gasket, drive belts, and spark plug wires. According to the seller, the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system has been bypassed and the car has an intermittent idle fluctuation.
Power is sent to the front wheels through a three-speed automatic transaxle.
The Carfax report indicates no accidents or other damage and lists history in New York and Massachusetts. Gaps in entries are present between June 1989 and April 2004 as well as between August 2016 and June 2021.
