1989 Chrysler Conquest TSi 5-Speed

This 1989 Chrysler Conquest is a stock TSi model that shows just under 88k indicated miles. Built by Mitsubishi as a performance variant of the Starion coupe, the TSi was equipped with a 2.6L turbocharged four and 5-speed manual transmission. This example had two owners prior to the seller, one of whom was an uncle who drove it sparingly for nine years prior to the seller’s recent acquisition. It is sold with original sales literature, two spare wheels, a clean Carfax report, and a clear Michigan title in the seller’s name.

Angular bodywork includes aerodynamic cladding and box flares, which lend an extra two inches in width over more pedestrian models. An exterior repaint in original Bright Red was reportedly carried out during the 1990s and shows well in photos. Blemishes include stone chips in the nose and lower valance as well as a small bubble on the fiberglass rear spoiler as detailed in the photos below.

The car was reportedly kept garaged throughout ownership of the seller’s uncle and no accidents are listed on the Carfax report. Stock staggered-width 16″ 5-spokes show light scratching and wear period BFGoodrich rubber, which the seller recommends be replaced due to age. Factory side and rear window louvers have been removed but are included in good condition. Both retractable headlights are demonstrated as functional in photos. The seller has added approximately 300 miles and states that the tires should be replaced.

The four-seat interior remains stock down to the factory cassette player and equalizer. Controls include pod-mounted switchgear and a factory wheel with built-in audio functions. Power windows, mirrors, and locks are equipped as well as cruise control and automatic climate control. Leather and vinyl sport seats have high bolsters showing some signs of use.

Orange-lettered analog instrumentation includes a 6-digit odometer showing just under 88k miles. The seller notes the leather shift and handbrake boots are worn and a crack in the door sill is shown in the gallery.

The 2.6L 4G54 single-cam four was turbocharged and intercooled for the TSi, yielding a factory rating of 188 horsepower for 1989. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission. The TSi came with a factory “Performance Handling Package” as well as four-wheel disc brakes with rear ABS.

The Carfax report shows no accidents, thefts, or other issues.

An original sale invoice and manuals are included in the sale along with two sets of keys and two extra factory wheels with tires. The seller had all fluids replaced in September 2017, and prior service records are unavailable.
