1989 Chrysler LeBaron GTC Convertible 5-Speed

This 1989 Chrysler LeBaron GTC convertible is finished in black with dark bronze lower cladding over taupe leather upholstery and is powered by a turbocharged and intercooled 2.2-liter inline-four paired with a five-speed Getrag manual transaxle. Factory equipment includes a black soft top, retractable headlight covers, and automatic climate control, while modifications are said to consist of a Turbos Unleashed ECU tune, adjustable Koni shocks, and a modified cylinder head and turbocharger. The car spent much of its life in Texas before being acquired in May 2021 by the seller and has since received a tune-up as well as a replacement timing belt, water pump, fuel filter and hoses, and alternator belt. This LeBaron shows 107k miles and is now offered with an uninstalled aftermarket high-flow catalytic converter, spare parts, service manuals, factory literature, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Illinois title in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in black with dark bronze lower cladding and gold pinstripes. Features include a black soft top and boot, retractable headlight covers, a rear cargo rack, and black-finished grilles. Seam separation on the soft top is documented in the gallery below along with scratches, paint chips, and other blemishes.

A set of factory 16″ mesh alloy wheels with dark bronze-colored centers and polished lips are wrapped in 205/55 Ohtsu FP7000 tires that were recently installed. The car is equipped with four-wheel disc brakes and Koni adjustable struts and shocks. The parking brake requires service per the seller.

The seating surfaces are upholstered in taupe leather, and wood trim accents the matching dashboard and center console. Amenities include automatic climate control, a CD and cassette stereo, an onboard computer, and power windows.

A leather-wrapped airbag steering wheel frames a 125-mph speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer. An aftermarket boost gauge has been added to the driver’s A-pillar. The six-digit mechanical odometer indicates 107k miles, approximately 500 of which have been added by the seller.

The turbocharged and intercooled 2.2-liter “Turbo II” inline-four received a tune-up during current ownership, along with a replacement timing belt assembly, water pump, fuel filter and hoses, oxygen and coolant temperature sensors, passenger engine mount, alternator belt, and several vacuum hoses. The catalytic converter has been removed and additional modifications reportedly include the following components:

The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and displays history in Texas and Illinois through its most recent entry in July 2021.
