49k-Mile 1989 Dodge Daytona Turbo II 5-Speed

This 1989 Dodge Daytona Turbo II is one of 269 examples equipped with the Competition Sport package, and it spent much of its life in Colorado before being relocated to New Jersey, where the seller acquired it in 2017. The car is finished in Bright White over Bordeaux velour upholstery, and power comes from a turbocharged and intercooled 2.2-liter inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. Additional equipment includes 15″ alloy wheels, a glass sunroof, a rear spoiler, four-wheel disc brakes, and a factory cassette stereo. Work in 2020 reportedly included a transmission service as well as replacement of the front wheel bearings and outer tie rods. This Daytona shows 49k miles and is offered with factory service manuals, spare parts, a clean Carfax report and a clean New Jersey title in the seller’s name.

The body is finished in Bright White with black side moldings and mirror caps. Exterior details include retractable headlights up front as well as a rear spoiler and louvers covering the rear hatch glass. The seller reports that the bumper covers and passenger-side front fender were repainted under current ownership.

Factory 15″ “crab” wheels are wrapped in Falken Sincera Touring tires that show 2014 date codes. The seller notes tarnishing of the wheel finish. The chassis features independent front suspension and a solid rear axle, while stopping power comes from four-wheel disc brakes. A rack-and-pinion unit controls the steering. A brake fluid flush was performed and the front wheel bearings and outer tie rods were replaced in July 2020 per the seller.

The cabin features manually-adjustable bolstered front seats and folding rear bucket seats upholstered in Bordeaux velour with matching door panels and carpets. Chrysler-branded floor mats line the footwells, and amenities include manual windows, manually-adjustable mirrors, and a factory cassette stereo.

A four-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a tachometer with a 6k-rpm redline and a 125-mph speedometer as well as auxiliary gauges. A factory boost pressure gauge is mounted in the center stack. The six-digit odometer shows 49k miles, approximately 2,500 of which were added under current ownership.

The turbocharged and intercooled 2.2-liter overhead-cam inline-four was rated at 174 horsepower and 200 lb-ft of torque when new. Power is sent to the front wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle. The gearbox fluid was changed in 2020 according to the seller.
