Bid to $825,000 on 12/22/23comments-icon252Comments

This 1990 Lamborghini Countach is a late-production example manufactured to US specifications in June 1990 and is the ninth-to-last of approximately 658 examples of the 25th Anniversary variant built during a three-year production run. It was reportedly ordered new by the seller at the Lamborghini factory in 1986 with the stipulation that the car be among the final examples produced. The car was picked up at the factory in Modena in July 1990 and was stored and serviced in Switzerland for five years before accompanying the seller on a relocation to the US, where it has remained in storage, showing just 117 kilometers (~73 miles). It is finished in Rosso Siviglia over Champagne leather with red piping and is powered by a 5.2-liter quad-cam V12 linked with a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes scissor doors, fog lights, 15″ OZ Racing multi-piece wheels, a gated shifter, an Alpine cassette stereo, and electronic climate control. This 25th Anniversary Countach has never been titled and is now offered in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with the owner’s manual, service records, two keys, a pair of branded gloves, a custom-made car cover, shipping documents from its 1995 transatlantic voyage, a US customs delivery form, its US DOT HS-7 import form, and an Italian Dati di Immatricolazione in the seller’s name.

Originally penned by Marcello Gandini, the Countach’s bodywork was updated by Horacio Pagani for the 25th Anniversary edition of the model that debuted in 1988. Features include carbon and Kevlar body panels, gradually inclined air intakes with longitudinal fins, and revisions to the front fascia, engine cover, and sills when compared to earlier models.

The bodywork is mounted over a tubular steel space frame and is finished in Rosso Siviglia on this example. Additional features include NACA ducts aft of the scissor doors along with European-specification bumpers, pop-up headlights, and fog lights.

The 15″ OZ Racing multi-piece alloy wheels are mounted with 225/50 front and 345/35 rear Pirelli P Zero tires. The Countach features a fully independent suspension with coil springs and telescopic shock absorbers, and stopping power is provided by four-wheel ventilated disc brakes.

The leather-wrapped two-tone steering wheel fronts a 320-km/h speedometer and a tachometer with a 7,500-rpm redline along with gauges for battery voltage, oil temperature, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 117 kilometers (~73 miles).

The Bizzarrini-designed 5.2-liter V12 features a 60° cylinder bank angle, four valves per cylinder, and Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection. Revised intakes on the 25th Anniversary Countach allowed for the radiators to be mounted vertically for improved cooling. Output was factory rated at 420 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential, the former of which is mounted in the middle of the car, ahead of the engine. Service performed by Lamborghini Palm Beach in May 2023 included draining of the fuel tank before a refill with 100-octane fuel and a fuel additive. Also performed at that time were a brake fluid flush, an oil change, gearbox and differential fluid exchanges, and a coolant change. The engine was turned over by hand following the service, for which invoices can be seen in the photo gallery below. Also shown are invoices from previous services and photos of the car’s service transportation routine, which is said to have included trailering the car via flatbed to and from each service. A video in which the seller discusses his purchase of the car and its service and storage history can be viewed below.

The car has never been titled and is not accompanied by a manufacturer’s statement of origin. It is being sold on a bill of sale and is accompanied by its Dati di Immatricolazione (Registration Data) issued in July 1990 in the seller’s name.
