4,700-Kilometer 1990 Nissan Pulsar GTI-R NISMO

This 1990 Nissan Pulsar GTI-R is said to be #13 of 21 examples modified by Nissan Motorsports International (NISMO) and is said to have been owned by Takao Katagiri, the CEO of NISMO, before it was purchased by the selling dealer and imported to the US in January 2022. It was subsequently displayed at the 2022 New York International Auto Show. The car is finished in white with a blue, red, and black livery over gray cloth upholstery, and power comes from a turbocharged 2.0-liter SR20DET inline-four linked with a five-speed manual gearbox and an ATTESA all-wheel-drive system. Additional equipment includes a NISMO intercooler, front and rear strut tower braces, a vented hood, a hatch-mounted spoiler, a roll bar, and an AM/FM radio. New tires were installed in 2022. This N14 Pulsar shows 4,700 kilometers (~3k miles) and is now offered in New Jersey as part of CultivatedCollector’s JDM Collection with factory books, tools, Japanese registration and inspection documents, import documents, and a Montana title.

The Pulsar GTI-R was developed as a road-going model to homologate the hatchback for WRC Group A competition. The body is finished in white with a red, black, and blue livery and features a model-specific front bumper, vented hood, and a hatch-mounted spoiler. Additional equipment includes side marker lamps, red mud flaps, and a rear window wiper. GTi-R NISMO graphics are present on the quarter panels.

The white-painted 14″ NISMO wheels are mounted with Yokohama Avid Touring tires that were fitted in 2022 after the car was photographed. The tires can be seen up close in the gallery. NISMO-modified GTI-Rs featured revised suspension components as well as reinforced strut towers. Stopping power is provided by discs at all four corners.

The right-hand-drive cockpit features bucket seats trimmed in gray cloth. Equipment includes an AM/FM radio, a roll bar, and a rear strut tower brace. The cabin is absent rear seats and carpets.

The two-spoke steering wheel frames a 180-km/h speedometer, a 9k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. A trio of auxiliary gauges is mounted in the center stack. The six-digit odometer shows 4,700 kilometers (~3k miles).

The turbocharged 2.0-liter SR20DET inline-four is topped with a NISMO-branded intercooler, and a NISMO strut tower brace spans the engine bay.

Power is sent to all four wheels via a five-speed manual gearbox and Nissan’s ATTESA all-wheel-drive system.

The firewall tag lists the engine specification and factory colors, while a NISMO tag listing the car as #13 is riveted to the right.

Please note, the title application for this car is currently being processed by the Montana DMV and the seller does not yet have a title in hand. Finalization for the title application is estimated to be between October 24th and 28th, so the auction winner will likely have to wait until after those dates to receive the title.
