This 1991 Land Rover Defender 90 is a European-market left-hand-drive example that was rebuilt and modified by Arkonik of Somerset, England, prior to being imported to the United States in 2017. The truck is finished in Arles Blue over black leather upholstery and is equipped with a 2.5-liter 200Tdi turbodiesel inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Additional modifications include black checker-plate trim, Terrafirma suspension components, LED lighting, 18” Kahn Design 1983 wheels, a Warn winch, a roof rack, a Puma-style hood, a KBX grille, a microsuede headliner, and an Alpine stereo system. The truck was registered in Colorado after being imported to the US and was previously sold in 2018 by the selling dealer, who reacquired the vehicle in June 2021. This modified Defender 90 is offered at no reserve with manufacturer’s literature, jacking equipment, a clean Carfax report, and a clean New Jersey title.
The body was refinished in Arles Blue with a white roof during the Arkonik build. Equipment includes a Puma-specification hood, fender extensions, black checker-plate trim, Hella LED lighting, and a NAS-specification rear bumper. A pair of black Fire and Ice side steps and LED exterior lighting are fitted along with a roof rack and a Warn winch with synthetic rope affixed to the front bumper. The grille and fender vents were replaced with items from KBX.
Kahn Design 1983 wheels are mounted with 18″ BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A K02 tires. The truck features a Terrafirma suspension lift kit along with Cellular Dynamic dampers, and braking is handled by front discs and rear drums.
The cabin features quilted black leather upholstery on the heated front seats and folding inward-facing rear seats as well as leather-trimmed door panels, a microsuede headliner, and black carpets. Appointments include air conditioning, a lockable storage cubby, and an Alpine stereo.
A three-spoke Momo steering wheel fronts a 120-mph speedometer and a collection of auxiliary gauges. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 8k miles. True mileage is unknown.
The truck was fitted with a 2.5-liter 200Tdi turbodiesel inline-four during the build. Additional equipment includes an aluminum radiator, a custom air-intake system, and a single exhaust system. The parking brake cable and air conditioning compressor were replaced in September 2021 according to the selling dealer.
Power is sent to all four wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Additional photos showing the chassis, suspension, and brakes are presented in the gallery.
The Carfax report first updates in 2017 and indicates no accidents or other damage with history in Colorado, Oregon, and New Jersey.
