1992 Chevrolet 454 SS

Sold for $30,000 on 5/10/22

This 1992 Chevrolet 454 SS has been registered in California since new and was acquired by the owner in 2021. It is finished in Summit White over gray fabric upholstery and powered by a 7.4-liter V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a hard tonneau bed cover, 15″ wheels, fog lamps, and air conditioning. Work since 2021 is said to have included replacing the thermostat and water pump, A/C compressor and receiver/drier, upper control arm bushings, and idler pulley. This 454 SS shows 94k miles and is offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with manufacturer’s literature, a clean Carfax report and a clean California title in the owner’s name.

The truck is finished in Summit White and equipped with a short bed, black trim, and 454 SS badging. Additional features include a matching hard tonneau bed cover, fog lamps, black mirror caps, a sliding rear window, a rear receiver hitch, and dual exhaust outlets. The hood and front fenders were removed, repaired, and repainted in December 2021 by Mulholland Motorsports of Newbury Park, California. The seller notes the trim on the passenger-side door was also repaired during current ownership.

Polished 15″ wheels are mounted with BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. All 454 SS trucks were equipped with the Performance Handling Package which included a 12.7:1 steering ratio, a 32mm front sway bar, and Bilstein shock absorbers. The tie rod ends and shocks are believed to have been replaced under prior ownership while the upper arm control bushings are said to have been replaced in the last year.

The bucket seats are upholstered in gray fabric, and appointments include air conditioning, cruise control, a center console with cupholders, power windows and door locks, a cassette radio with a graphic equalizer, and a 454 SS-branded fabric dash cover and floor mats. Replacement carpets were installed in preparation for the sale, and the air conditioning compressor and dryer are said to have been replaced under current ownership. The seller notes cracks in the dash and states that the radio powers on but does not produce sound.

A wood-trimmed GT Performance steering wheel fronts a 110-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 94k miles, approximately 600 of which have been added by the current owner.

The 454ci L19 V8 was factory-rated at 255 horsepower and 405 lb-ft of torque and power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. The thermostat, water pump, MAP sensor, idler pulley, tensioner, and drive belt are said to have been replaced during current ownership.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or damage and displays history in California.
