This Mazda NA MX-5 Miata got away, but there are more like it here.
This 1992 Mazda MX-5 Miata is finished in metallic silver over gray cloth and powered by a 1.6-liter inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transmission. Factory equipment includes a black soft top, the “B” options package, and air conditioning, while modifications include a Boss Frog roll bar, a Boss Frog harness bar, 15″ Kosei K1 Racing wheels, an Exedy Stage 1 clutch kit, Tokico adjustable shocks, and Flyin’ Miata springs, sway bars, and frame rail reinforcements. The car was purchased by the seller on BaT in August 2018, and subsequent work is said to have included oil changes, replacement of the shifter boot, and installation of a wind deflector and Cobalt Delrin door bushings. This NA Miata shows 39k miles and is now offered at no reserve with an owner’s manual, repair manuals, service records dating back to 2013, the removed stock wheels and other parts, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Illinois title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in Silver Stone Metallic (3L) with a manually-operated black soft top. Equipment includes pop-up headlights, a Boss Frog ClearView padded roll bar, and a stainless-steel no-drill front license plate frame. Photos of the paint and trim can be viewed in the gallery below.
Silver-finished 15″ Kosei K1 Racing wheels are wrapped in Falken Azenis RT615K tires showing 2016 date codes. Suspension modifications are said to include Tokico adjustable shocks, Supermiata adjustable end links, and Flyin’ Miata springs, sway bars, and frame rail reinforcements. Braking is handled by anti-lock discs fitted with Hawk HPS pads. The removed factory “Daisy” wheels with tires are included with the sale.
The cabin features seats trimmed in gray cloth with matching carpets and Miata-logo floor mats as well as a black dashboard and vinyl door panels. A Boss Frog harness bar was added under prior ownership, and the factory “B” options package included cruise control, power windows, and a radio cassette stereo with headrest speakers. The seller states that he has added a leather shift boot, a “quick-remove” wind deflector, and Cobalt Delrin door bushings. Blemishes are visible on the driver-side vinyl door panels, photos of which are provided in the image gallery below.
A leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The six-digit odometer shows approximately 39k miles, 3k of which were added by the seller. The seller notes intermittent illumination of the airbag warning light despite installation of a replacement airbag control module.
The 1.6-liter DOHC inline-four was factory rated at 116 horsepower and 100 lb-ft of torque when new. The timing belt, water pump, front seal, radiator, and thermostat were reportedly replaced under prior ownership. An oil change was performed in preparation for the sale.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission that is said to have been fitted with an Exedy Stage 1 clutch kit under prior ownership. Additional underside photos are available in the gallery.
Service records dating back to 2013 are included in the sale along with an owner’s manual, repair manuals, a car cover, and the removed radiator, airbag control module, four shocks, and clutch.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists registration history in Michigan and Illinois from its first entry in August 1995 through its most recent in October 2020.
