This GMC Typhoon got away, but there are more like it here.

This 1993 GMC Typhoon is powered by a turbocharged 4.3-liter V6 driving all four wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip rear differential, and it now shows 40k miles. It was first registered in Michigan and spent time in Illinois and Pennsylvania before the seller’s acquisition in April 2018. The truck and is finished in black over black leather and equipped with 16″ aluminum wheels, fog lamps, a sunroof, air conditioning, and a cassette stereo. This Typhoon is now offered with manufacturer’s literature, a clean Carfax report, and a clean New Jersey title in the seller’s name.

The Typhoon was based on the contemporary GMC Jimmy and was produced for the 1992 and 1993 model years by Production Automotive Services of Troy, Michigan, in partnership with GMC. This example is finished in black with black lower cladding and wheel-arch trims. Additional exterior details include fog lights, a split tailgate, Typhoon badges, a sunroof, and a rear wiper.

Turbine-style 16″ aluminum wheels are mounted with 245/50 Firestone Firehawk SVX tires. Blemishes are visible on the wheels. Stopping power is provided by anti-lock front disc and rear drum brakes and the truck features an Electronic Level Control (ELC) load-leveling suspension system. The rear brake lines were said to have been replaced in August 2022.

The cabin features front bucket seats and a folding rear bench upholstered in black leather joined by a color-coordinated dash, center console, and door panels. Additional appointments include air conditioning, power windows and locks, and a cassette stereo.

A leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, an inset turbo boost gauge, and a combination auxiliary gauge. The six-digit odometer shows 40k miles, approximately 40 of which were added by the current owner.

The turbocharged and intercooled 4.3-liter V6 produced 280 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque when new. The oil was changed in July 2022.

Power is sent to all four wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission, a Borg Warner transfer case, and a limited-slip rear differential. The rear axle gasket is said to have been replaced in August 2022. Corrosion is visible on underside components, additional photos of which are provided in the gallery.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in Michigan, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey.
