This 1993 Volvo 240 sedan is number 1,593 of 1,600 Classic Limited Edition models produced and is finished in Ruby Red Pearl over tan cloth. Power is supplied by a 2.3-liter inline-four paired with a four-speed automatic transmission, and equipment includes power windows and locks, heated and powered mirrors, air conditioning, a factory AM/FM stereo, and 14″ alloy wheels. The car was first registered in California and spent time in Texas before the seller’s acquisition in 2021. This 240 Classic shows 147k miles and is offered at no reserve with manufacturer’s literature, partial service records, a Carfax report, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in Ruby Red Pearl (414) and features black bumpers, a power antenna, and a rear window defroster. A crack in the windshield has been repaired, and the rear emblems have been painted black. The seller notes scratches in the clear coat, dings on the doors, and sun damage to the window-surround vinyl, which are pictured in the gallery below. The Carfax report describes “damage” to the right front of the car as a result of an incident in January 2003.
Silver 14″ alloy wheels are mounted with 185/70 Kumho Solus TA11 tires that show date codes from 2018 and 2019. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes.
The cabin features seats upholstered in beige cloth along with matching door panels and carpeting. Amenities include air conditioning, adjustable front lumbar support, power windows and locks, a lockable glovebox, and a factory AM/FM stereo. A crack on the dash has been repaired, and the seller notes damage to the driver-side carpet and an inoperable cassette deck. A pair of Coco floor mats is included in the sale.
A four-spoke steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and gauges for coolant temperate and fuel level. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 147k miles, approximately 5k of which have been added by the seller.
The 2.3-liter SOHC inline-four was factory rated at 114 horsepower and 136 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. An oil change was performed in May 2021, and the seller notes that the drive belt tensioner needs to be replaced.
