This Daihatsu Hijet got away, but there are more like it here.
This 1996 Daihatsu Hijet Appare is a right-hand-drive Kei pickup that was imported to the US from Japan in May 2021 by the seller. The truck is finished in blue over a grey interior and power is provided by a 660cc twin-cam inline-three paired with a five-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Equipment includes air conditioning, a center console, fold-down bedsides, and side window visors. The seller reportedly performed an oil change and replaced the tires, front brake pads, and air filter. This Hijet is now offered at no reserve with import documents and a clean North Carolina title in the seller’s name.
The truck is finished in blue and features twin-cam 12v badging, fold-down bedsides, a “headache” rack, side window visors, and mudflaps. A dent on the front end and an area of rust on the exterior engine access panel are shown in the gallery below.
A set of 12″ steel wheels are wrapped in 145R12 Yokohama Super Digger tires that are said to have been recently installed, along with replacement front brake pads.
The seating surfaces are upholstered in grey complemented by matching grey vinyl floor covers and a replacement headliner. Amenities included air conditioning, a factory radio, a center console, and rubber floormats. A center stack filler panel is missing.
A two-spoke steering wheel wearing an aftermarket cover frames a 140-km/h speedometer. The six-digit mechanical odometer indicates 74k kilometers (~46k miles), approximately 308 of which were added by the seller.
The 660cc inline-three features twin camshafts and four valves per cylinder. An oil change was performed and the air filter replaced by the seller.
Power is delivered to the rear or all four wheels via a five-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Additional underside photos are available in the gallery below.
