1996 Jeep Cherokee SE 2-Door 4×4 5-Speed

This 1996 Jeep Cherokee SE is a two-door example that was registered to its first owner in California for 23 years and remained registered in the state through the seller’s acquisition later that same year. Finished in Moss Green Pearlcoat over Jamaica cloth, the truck is powered by a 4.0-liter inline-six mated to a five-speed manual transmission and a Command-Trac dual-range transfer case. It is equipped with a Trac-Lok rear differential, a roof basket, a receiver hitch, 15″ alloy wheels, and the Up Country Suspension Package, which added revised shocks, recovery hooks, underbody skid plates, and a heavy-duty radiator. The cabin is outfitted with front bucket seats, a Pioneer CD stereo, and air conditioning. This XJ Cherokee shows 156k miles and is offered a copy of the window sticker, a spare wheel, the removed factory radio, service records, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

The two-door body is finished in Moss Green Pearlcoat (PJN) with black-finished bumpers and wheel arch extensions. An aftermarket roof basket is mounted to the roof rails, and details include a receiver hitch, a rear wiper, recovery hooks, and yellow fog lights. The Carfax report lists a damage report in July 2016 that affected the roof and front of the truck, and the hood and roof were refinished under current ownership.

Ten-hole 15″ alloy wheels are mounted with 225/75 Goodyear Wrangler Trailrunner tires. The truck was optioned with the Up Country Suspension Package, which added revised shocks and a full-size spare. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums.

The front bucket seats and a rear bench are trimmed in Jamaica cloth with vinyl seatbacks and sides. A color-coordinated dash mat is fitted, and appointments include a center floor console, a rear window defroster, air conditioning, and a Pioneer CD stereo.

The airbag steering wheel frames an 85-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and supplementary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and battery voltage. The six-digit odometer shows 156k miles, approximately 4k of which were added under current ownership.

The 4.0-liter Power Tech inline-six was factory rated at 190 horsepower and 225 lb-ft of torque. The Up Country Suspension Package added a heavy-duty radiator.

Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels via a five-speed manual transmission and a Command-Trac dual-range transfer case. A Trac-Lok rear differential was equipped from the factory along with underbody skid plates. Clutch components were replaced in 2015.

The removed factory radio, a spare wheel, a repair manual, a copy of the window sticker, owner’s manuals, and service records are included in the sale.

The Carfax report lists history in California along with the aforementioned damage report in July 2016.
