16k-Mile 1996 Volvo 850 Turbo Platinum Edition

This 1996 Volvo 850 Turbo is one of approximately 1,500 Platinum Edition examples imported for the model year. Finished in pearl white metallic over beige leather upholstery, the car is powered by a turbocharged 2.3-liter inline-five paired with a four-speed automatic transmission, and it is equipped with 16″ alloy wheels, a rear spoiler, a power sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated and power-adjustable front seats with position memory, and a CD/cassette stereo. The car was registered with one owner in New York from new until it was acquired in 2023 by the selling dealer, who reports that subsequent service included replacing the timing belt and tires. This 850 Platinum shows 16k miles and is offered in Kansas with a window sticker, manufacturer’s literature, an accident-free Carfax report, and a clean New York title.

The car is finished in pearl white metallic and features black side moldings, a rear spoiler, a power sunroof, fog lights, headlight wipers, front mud guards, and body-color mirror caps.

Five-spoke 16″ Persus alloy wheels are wrapped in Uniroyal Tiger Paw tires that were mounted in preparation for the sale according to the selling dealer. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with ABS and a TRACS traction-control system.

The heated and power-adjustable front seats and the split-folding rear bench are trimmed in beige leather and joined by a color-coordinated dashboard, carpets, and door panels. Amenities include front seat position memory, dual-zone automatic climate control, a CD/cassette stereo, a trip computer, Volvo-branded rubberized floor mats, power windows and locks, and a six-disc CD changer in the trunk.

A leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and supplementary gauges. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 16k miles.

The turbocharged 2.3-liter inline-five was factory rated at 222 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. The selling dealer states that the timing belt, water pump, and battery were replaced along with performing an oil change in preparation for the sale.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or damage and lists one-owner history in New York. Entries in January 2003 and September 2004 note open manufacturer recalls regarding front seat wiring and a heat shield.
