This Porsche 993 Turbo got away, but there are more like it here.
This 1997 Porsche 911 Turbo is finished in Slate Grey Metallic over black supple leather upholstery, and it is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.6L flat-six that drives all four wheels through a six-speed manual transaxle. Additional equipment includes a limited-slip differential, 18″ Turbo Twist wheels, xenon headlights, fog lights, a fixed rear spoiler, power-adjustable front seats, cruise control, and automatic climate control. The car has been registered in California since new and was previously listed on BaT in October 2022. This 993 Turbo shows 41k miles and is now offered at no reserve on dealer consignment in California with manufacturer’s literature, a window sticker, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title.
The 993 Turbo featured wider bodywork, revised bumper covers, and a fixed rear spoiler to accommodate top-mount intercoolers when compared with the standard 993 coupe. This example is finished in Slate Grey Metallic and features xenon headlights with washers, integrated fog lights, a power sunroof, and polished exhaust outlets. Pinstripes were removed from the body during current ownership. Paint meter readings are provided in the image gallery below.
The 18″ Turbo Twist wheels wear 225/40 front and 285/30 rear Michelin Pilot Sport tires that were mounted in 2020. The car features an Automatic Brake Differential (ABD), and the 993 was the first 911 to feature multi-link rear suspension. Braking is provided by red Porsche-branded four-piston calipers over cross-drilled rotors.
The cabin features seating surfaces trimmed in supple black leather, and matching leather extends to the door panels, dashboard, and center console. Amenities include power-adjustable front seats, a CD stereo, power windows, cruise control, and automatic climate control.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a central tachometer with a 6,600-rpm redline, a 200-mph speedometer, an analog Quarz clock, and gauges for oil pressure, oil temperature, oil level, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 41k miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership.
The twin-turbocharged 3.6L flat-six was factory rated at 408 horsepower and 398 lb-ft of torque. A valve job was performed in 2015 when the cylinder head gaskets and lower valve cover gaskets were replaced along with the clutch disc, pressure plate, and release bearing. The DME and turbochargers were repaired in 2020.
Power is sent to all four wheels through a six-speed manual transaxle with a limited-slip differential. Additional underside images can be viewed in the gallery.
The window sticker lists factory colors and equipment, initial delivery to Stead Motors of Walnut Creek, California, and a total price of $111,222.
Manufacturer’s literature is included in the sale along with a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, a tool kit, an emergency air compressor, and service records.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in California, where an emissions inspection was last successfully passed in September 2021.
