This Mercedes-Benz R129 SL got away, but there are more like it here.
This 1999 Mercedes-Benz SL500 was first registered in Arizona and later spent time in Nevada and California, where it was purchased by the seller in 2019. Now showing just under 75k miles, it is finished in triple black, and power comes from a 5.0-liter V8 paired with a five-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a color-matched hardtop, xenon headlights, heated and power-adjustable seats, 18″ AMG wheels, automatic climate control, and a stereo with a CD changer. This R129 is now offered at no reserve with factory literature, a clean Carfax report and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The exterior is finished in black (040U) with a black soft top and features the AMG styling package with aerodynamic rocker panels and bumper covers. Additional equipment includes a color-matched hardtop, xenon headlights, fog lights, and a retractable roll bar. The seller states that the front bumper and a rear quarter panel were repainted, and blemishes are noted on the rear bumper. The soft top plastic window and hydraulic cylinders were reportedly recently replaced, and videos demonstrating the convertible top functions are viewable here and here.
Five-spoke 18″ AMG-logo wheels wear Federal Super Steel 595 tires measuring 225/40 up front and 265/35 out back. Sidewall cracks are noted on the tires, and lip damage on the wheels can be seen in the gallery below.
The heated and power-adjustable seats with memory settings are upholstered in black leather. Burl wood accents the center console and door panels. Amenities include cruise control, automatic climate control, and an AM/FM stereo with a trunk-mounted CD changer. The seller reports that the radio is currently code-locked.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6k-rpm redline, an analog clock, and gauges for fuel level, fuel economy, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The digital odometer shows just under 75k miles, approximately 1k of which were added by the seller.
The 5.0-liter M113 V8 was factory-rated at 302 horsepower, which is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed automatic transmission. The seller states that the oil was changed in 2019.

The May 2020 Carfax report lists no accidents or other damage and shows registration history in Arizona, Nevada, and California through its most recent entry in September 2019.
