This 2001 Audi A6 4.2 Quattro is a black-over-black sedan that has been registered with one family in Virginia since new, and it is powered by an aluminum 4.2-liter V8 linked with a five-speed Tiptronic automatic transaxle and Quattro all-wheel drive. The car was ordered with the Sport package, which added front sport seats, 17″ forged alloy wheels, and sport-tuned suspension, as well as the Premium package, which included xenon headlights, heated front and rear seats, a heated steering wheel, and a power-operated rear sunshade. A glass sunroof, a power-adjustable steering column, and a Bose sound system are additional elements. This C5 A6 4.2 has 6k miles and is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with manufacturer’s literature and accessory kits, 2001 sales documents, service records from new, and a clean Virginia title in the owner’s name.

The A6 4.2 Quattro featured an aluminum hood and front fenders in addition to lower door blades and flared wheel arches, and this example is finished in Brilliant Black (LY9B). Additional equipment includes xenon headlamps, headlight washers, fog lights, auto-dimming mirrors, and a glass sunroof. An April 2021 entry on the Carfax report states that damage was reported, with no additional information provided, and the seller reports that the rear bumper cover has been repainted.

Five-spoke 17″ forged alloy wheels are wrapped in Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 Plus tires mounted in June 2022. The car was equipped at the factory with 1BE sport suspension, which featured a ride height lowered by 20mm in addition to stiffer spring rates, revised dampers, and larger stabilizer bars. Stopping power is provided by disc brakes with 321mm front rotors, an Electronic Stabilization Program (ESP), and Electronic Differential Lock traction control.

The heated and power-adjustable front sport seats are trimmed in Onyx leather, and wood trim accents the cabin. Equipment includes front seat position memory, a HomeLink transmitter, a power-operated rear sunshade, a Bose sound system, and six-level front and rear seat heaters. An obsolete car phone remains in the center armrest, and a six-disc CD changer is mounted in the trunk. A Bluetooth adapter and satellite radio receiver were installed in June 2022. The seller notes that the CD player and disc changer are not working, and the retractable cupholder in the dashboard is broken.

Mounted on a power-adjustable column, the heated steering wheel frames a 170-mph speedometer, a tachometer, auxiliary gauges, and a central display with pixel damage. The digital odometer indicates 6k miles. A January 2023 service record in the gallery states that a brake warning light comes on intermittently.

The 4.2-liter aluminum 40-valve V8 was rated at 300 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque when new.

Power is sent to all four wheels through a five-speed Tiptronic automatic transaxle and a Quattro all-wheel drive system with a Torsen center differential. The transaxle flange shaft and output shaft seal were replaced in December 2018.

August 2001 paperwork from Rockville Porsche-Audi of Maryland lists factory colors, additional equipment, and a total cash price of $50,889. Manufacturer’s literature, accessory kits, and service records also accompany the car.
