Lingenfelter-Modified 2001 Cadillac Catera LS7 6-Speed

This 2001 Cadillac Catera was leased new by the original owner from Rinke Cadillac in Warren, Michigan, and was sent to Lingenfelter Performance Engineering (LPE) soon after for the installation of an LS6 V8 and a Tremec six-speed manual transmission. Prior to the seller’s purchase in 2002, the car was fitted with a 7.0-liter LS7 V8 from LPE, built with a Corvette C5R-based block, ported LS6 heads, an LS6 intake, and a custom exhaust. Additional modifications include a limited-slip differential, Eibach and Steinmetz suspension components, 17″ wheels, and disc brakes. This modified Catera is now offered by the seller with a copy of GM High-Tech Performance magazine featuring the build, an accident-free Carfax report, and a clean Michigan title in the seller’s name.

The exterior is finished in black, and features include matching window and door trim, a solar reflective windshield, a powered sunroof, and a rear lip spoiler. Additions include a mesh grille insert, V-Spec badging, and window tinting. Per the seller, the hood was recently refinished to address imperfections. The recent Carfax report indicates no history of accidents or other damage.

A walk-around video by the seller further displays the exterior. Steinmetz 17″ wheels are mounted with staggered-width Michelin AS3 tires. Suspension updates include Eibach lowering springs and Steinmetz sway bars, while Opel Omega Touring car-spec disc brakes are fitted at all four corners. Spare brake components, including front and rear brake rotors and front calipers, accompany the car.

The interior features charcoal leather upholstery on the front bucket seats and rear bench, along with a matching dashboard and carpeting. Wood trim panels are found on the center console and doors, and amenities include heated front seats, automatic climate control, a rear sunshade, and a Bose sound system with a CD changer. A thee-spoke Momo steering wheel replaces the factory unit, and Cadillac V-Spec badges are affixed to the front door panels.

The factory 3.0L V6 was replaced by LPE with a 5.7-liter LS6 V8, which itself was replaced by a 7.0-liter LS7 V8. Features include a Corvette C5R-based block, ported LS6 heads, an LS6 intake, a custom airbox, strut tower brace, and custom headers linked to a 2.5″ exhaust. The car has been personally maintained by the seller, and recent servicing is said to have include an oil change completed in Spring 2020.
