This Ford F-150 SVT Lightning got away, but there are more like it here.
This 2001 Ford F-150 SVT Lightning is one of 6,381 examples produced for the model year and is powered by a Whipple-supercharged 5.4-liter V8 linked to a four-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential 3.73:1-ratio gearing. Additional modifications reportedly include a forged rotating assembly, Trick Flow cylinder heads, a Fluidyne intercooler, high-performance cooling and fuel system components, revised camshafts, long-tube headers, and electric exhaust cut-outs as well as Corbeau racing seats, QA1 dampers, aftermarket 20″ wheels, and a Cervini’s hood. The truck was acquired by the selling dealer in 2023, and additional equipment includes a Pioneer head unit, a fabricated center console, and air conditioning. This modified SVT Lightning is now offered in Florida by the selling dealer at no reserve with a Carfax report and a clean Alabama title.
The truck is finished in Oxford White, and Lightning-specific details include revised bumper covers, side skirts, and a flareside bed with side steps. Additional equipment includes a Cervini’s hood, a spray-in bedliner, a black tonneau cover, and LED fog lights as well as smoked taillights and headlights. A scratch is visible in the gallery below, and the Carfax report shows damage to the right rear in an entry from August 2004.
Charcoal-finished 20″ wheels are mounted with 295/40 Toyo Proxes ST tires, and a matching spare is stowed in the bed. The truck is said to be equipped with QA1 adjustable dampers, and stopping power is provided by four-wheel antilock disc brakes with slotted rotors. The rotors and brake pads are said to have been replaced in preparation for the sale.
The cab features Corbeau racing seats upholstered in white leather and a fabricated center console with SVT and Lightning logos has been added. Amenities include a Pioneer stereo system, air conditioning, power accessories, and Lightning-branded floor mats. The selling dealer states that the carpet was replaced under previous ownership.
The four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and supplementary gauges, and auxiliary gauges have been mounted on the steering column and A-pillar. The digital odometer indicates 147k chassis miles, approximately 2k miles of which were added under current ownership. True mileage is unknown.
The factory engine is said to have been replaced with an MMR 5.4-liter V8 installed in 2021 and reportedly fitted with a Whipple supercharger, a forged rotating assembly, a Fluidyne dual-chamber intercooler, high-performance camshafts, LFB billet fuel rails, DeatschWerks fuel injectors, Trick Flow cylinder heads, and long-tube headers. The air conditioning components, timing chain, valve covers, power steering pump, water pump, and engine mounts are said to have been replaced under previous ownership, and the EGR components were removed. The selling dealer notes that the engine bay was repainted when the engine was replaced.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential with 3.73:1 gearing. A TA Performance differential cover, a transmission fluid cooler, a 4R100 flex plate, and a revised valve body are said to have been installed along with a dual side-exit exhaust system with electronic cut-outs. The selling dealer notes that the transmission mounts and differential seals and gaskets have been replaced.
The Carfax report shows the aforementioned damage report as well as an open Manufacturer Safety Recall related to the fuel tank strap in a July 2011 entry. History is listed in North Carolina, Georgia, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Michigan, South Carolina, and Alabama.
