This Porsche 996 911 (Non-Turbo/GT2/GT3) got away, but there are more like it here.
This 2001 Porsche 911 Carrera coupe was purchased as a non-running project in 2021 by the current owner, who subsequently installed a replacement 3.4-liter M96 flat-six and six-speed manual transaxle. Finished in Orient Red Metallic over Graphite Grey leather upholstery, the car has been modified with Bilstein shocks and springs, a GT3-sourced adjustable sway bar, a third radiator, a Fabspeed cat-back exhaust system, and a B&M short shifter. Additional equipment includes a sunroof, xenon headlights, a deployable rear spoiler, 18” Carrera II wheels, power-adjustable front seats, a Becker Porsche CD stereo, cruise control, and automatic climate control. Work completed since 2021 has included replacing the starter, alternator, battery, fuel pump, ignition coil, spark plugs, engine mounts, coolant hoses, drive belts, idler pulley, drive belt tensioner, air conditioning condenser and dryer, evaporative control canister, and front and rear brake pads and rotors. This 996.1 coupe has 118k chassis miles and is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner at no reserve with service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Nevada title in the owner’s name.
The car is finished in Orient Red Metallic and is equipped with an electric sunroof, xenon headlights, headlight washers, integrated fog lights, a deployable rear spoiler, an aftermarket front tow hook, and dual exhaust outlets with polished finishers. The seller notes evidence of paintwork to the hood, and holes in the front bumper cover remain from a removed license plate mount. There are scratches in the front and rear bumper cover and paint chips around the body. Close-up photographs of the exterior finish and trim are shown in the gallery below.
Black-finished 18” Carrera II wheels are mounted with 235/40 front and 265/40 rear Michelin Pilot Sport tires that show 2015 and 2016 date codes. Braking is handled by four-piston Porsche-branded calipers fitted over cross-drilled rotors at all four corners. The seller states that Bilstein shocks and springs and a GT3-sourced adjustable sway bar have been added, and work completed in 2021 included replacing the front and rear brake pads and rotors.
The cabin features power-adjustable front seats upholstered in Graphite Grey leather. Interior amenities include driver-seat memory settings, a Becker Porsche CD stereo, cruise control, automatic climate control, Porsche-branded floor mats, a Function-First Classic shift knob, and Techart aluminum pedals. There are scratches on the center console.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts a 180-mph speedometer, a central tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, voltage, and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 118k chassis miles, approximately 2k of which were added under current ownership.
The replacement 3.4-liter M96 flat-six was reportedly rebuilt prior to being installed in February 2021, at which time the starter, alternator, battery, fuel pump, ignition coil, spark plugs, engine mounts, and coolant hoses were replaced. A third radiator and a Fabspeed cat-back exhaust system have been fitted, and additional work performed since 2022 included replacing the drive belts, idler pulley, drive belt tensioner, air conditioning condenser and dryer, evaporative control canister, fuel tank vent valve, crankcase vent valve, oil pressure sensor, and oxygen sensor.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a replacement six-speed manual transaxle that was installed in February 2021. The gear selector cables were replaced in July 2022, and a B&M short shifter has been added. Additional underside photos are provided in the gallery.
