This 2002 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is finished in Quicksilver Metallic over black leather and is powered by a 5.7-liter LS6 V8. Equipment includes the Memory Package, a limited-slip differential, pop-up headlights, Stainless Works long-tube headers, and 17″ and 18″ forged alloy wheels in addition to an MGW short-throw shifter, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, a head-up display, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, and a cassette stereo linked to a Bose sound system. The car was acquired by the seller on BaT in August 2021, and the six-speed manual gearbox was rebuilt two months later. This C5 Z06 has 27k miles and is now offered with manufacturer’s literature, two keys and fobs, an October 2021 service invoice, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Illinois title in the seller’s name.

The C5 Z06 was only offered as a fixed-roof coupe for increased chassis stiffness and featured a quad-exit titanium exhaust system, mesh grille inserts, and weight-saving measures such as thinner glass and reduced sound deadening when compared to the standard C5. This example is finished in Quicksilver Metallic (12U) and features pop-up headlights, Z06 fender badges, and rear brake vents. Paint flaws on the front bumper cover are shown up close in the gallery below.

Factory 17″ and 18″ forged alloy wheels are mounted with 265/40 front and 295/35 rear Michelin Pilot Sport tires showing 2015 and 2016 date codes. The Z06 suspension featured a larger front stabilizer bar, increased damping, and a higher spring rate than the standard Corvette. This car is equipped with mudguards, active handling and traction control systems, speed-sensitive rack-and-pinion steering, and red brake calipers clamping ventilated rotors at all four corners.

The cockpit features black leather seating surfaces with red Z06 headrest embroidery, and the driver’s seat is six-way power-adjustable. An MGW short-throw shifter was installed under current ownership, and additional interior amenities include a head-up display, dual-zone automatic climate control, an onboard computer, cruise control, and a Bose sound system with a cassette player. The driver’s seat outer bolster is torn, the speaker cover on the driver’s door is cracked, and paint chips are visible near the driver’s door sill plate.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts a 200-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline along with gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, voltage, and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 27k miles, approximately 1k of which have been added under current ownership.

The 5.7-liter LS6 V8 was based upon the contemporary LS1 and features a refined aluminum block, a higher-lift camshaft, a 10.5:1 compression ratio, and increased air and oil flow. Factory-rated output for the 2002 model year was 405 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque, and Stainless Works long-tube headers are installed. An oil change was carried out in July 2022.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox and a limited-slip differential. The gearbox was rebuilt in October 2021 by Competition Transmission in Lynwood, Illinois, and work involved the replacement of first gear as well as the first, second, and fifth gear synchro assemblies.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in Iowa, Nebraska, Texas, and Illinois.
