36k-Mile 2003 BMW M5

Sold for $33,750 on 2/7/20

This 2003 BMW M5 was sold new from Morristown BMW in New Jersey and was purchased by the seller from the third owner one year ago. Now showing 36k miles, the car is powered by a 4.9-liter S62 V8 paired with a six-speed manual transmission. Finished in Sterling Gray Metallic, the car is modified with a Caramel leather interior with Black Birch trim, an Einhorn Industries rear differential subframe bushing and dual-mass flywheel, H&R springs, and a Dinan exhaust, short shifter, strut bar, and rear sway bar. Service under the seller’s ownership reportedly included new transmission fluid and an oil change. This E39 M5 is now offered with recent records, factory literature, Carfax and AutoCheck reports, and a clean Mississippi title in the seller’s name.

The exterior is finished in Sterling Gray Metallic (472) and features black window trim as well as an M5-specific front valance with integrated fog lamps. The provided Carfax and AutoCheck reports show a front end impact in March 2004 under previous ownership, and the seller believes the headlights were replaced as a result. Flaws highlighted in the gallery include a crack in the front bumper and paint touch-ups on the rear bumper. A narrated walk-around video is provided here.

Style 65 18″ wheels wear Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires showing 2019 date codes. The suspension features H&R springs, as well as a Dinan front strut brace and rear sway bar, and BeastPower sway bar brackets.

Originally finished in black, the interior was updated to Caramel leather under the seller’s ownership, and Black Birch wood trim was installed. Equipment includes power-adjustable heated front seats, automatic climate control, a sunroof, a power-tilting steering wheel, and a Dinan short shifter. An interior detail video is available here.

Instrumentation includes a 185-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer shows 36k miles, 1,300 of which were added by the seller.

The 4.9-liter S62 V8 was factory rated at 394 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission. Modifications are said to include an Einhorn Industries Unicorn resonated X-pipe, rear differential front subframe bushing, and solid billet aluminum shifter carrier arm bushings. The radiator is said to have been replaced under previous ownership as a result of the accident, and service under the seller’s ownership reportedly included the installation of an Einhorn Industries Unicorn lightweight dual-mass flywheel and LUK clutch, along with replacing the transmission fluid and an oil change.
