18k-Mile 2003 Mercedes-Benz SL55 AMG

Sold for $30,500 on 11/23/20

This 2003 Mercedes-Benz SL55 AMG was purchased new by the seller from Mercedes-Benz Omaha of Omaha, Nebraska, and it now has just 18k miles. The car is finished in Aegean Blue Metallic over Ash leather and powered by a supercharged 5.4-liter V8 paired with a five-speed AMG Speedshift automatic transmission. Features include 18″ aftermarket chrome wheels, a panoramic sunroof, Active Body Control suspension, Parktronic parking assist, climate-controlled active seats, a Bose sound system, navigation, and Keyless-GO. Recent service included fluid services and replacement of the fuel filter, lower control arm bushings, and the tires. This SL55 AMG is now offered with factory literature, a window sticker, receipts for the recent work, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Arizona title in the name of the seller’s company.

The car is finished in Aegean Blue Metallic (946) and features a retractable hardtop with a panoramic glass roof panel, AMG-specific lower body styling, quad exhaust outlets, Parktronic parking sensors, and bi-xenon headlights with washers. Lowenhart 18″ wheels with a chrome finish are mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires measuring 245/40 up front and 275/35 out back, which were installed in June 2020. Braking is provided by multi-piston AMG-branded calipers and cross-drilled rotors all around. Auto-leveling Active Body Control (ABC) suspension is equipped, and the front lower control arm bushings were replaced and an alignment was performed in May 2020.

The interior features heated and ventilated active seats trimmed in Ash leather with matching carpets and floor mats, while contrasting Dark Ash leather covers the upper dashboard, center console, and door panels. Amenities include dark wood accent trim, dual-zone automatic climate control, a Bose sound system, COMAND infotainment, navigation, Keyless-GO, and a six-disc CD changer. The seller states that an aftermarket amplifier is fitted.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 200-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and a digital odometer showing just under 18k miles.

The supercharged 5.4-liter V8 was factory-rated at 493 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque when new, which is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed AMG Speedshift automatic transmission. Maintenance in May 2020 included changes of the oil, coolant, and brake fluid as well as transmission and differential services. The air-conditioning system was checked and the fuel and cabin dust filters were also replaced along with the transmission pilot bushing.

The window sticker shows initial delivery to Mercedes-Benz Omaha of Omaha, Nebraska, colors and equipment, and a total retail price of $123,260.

The sale includes factory books and manuals as well as receipts for the recent work.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in Nebraska and Arizona from a single registered owner through its most recent entry in May 2020. Videos showing the trunk and operation of the folding hardtop are provided below.
