This Ferrari 575M got away, but there are more like it here.

This 2004 Ferrari 575M F1 is described as being in near-perfect cosmetic condition with similarly sorted mechanics after only 5,400 well-maintained miles from new. Fitted with the desirable Fiorano handling package, the car has been looked after by Ferrari restoration/service specialist Francorchamps of America in Southern California. The Tour de France Blue is one of the best colors for this model, and the beige interior features Daytona-style seats. Dry-sumped and redlined at 7,500 RPM, the 508 HP and 434 lb. ft. of torque from the V-12 were quoted as being good for a four second run to 60 MPH with a top speed of 202. The car benefits from a recent major service including fresh drive and timing belts, and the automated F1 manual 6-speed shifts perfectly according to the seller, with the clutch being in equally great shape. The included CarFax substantiates the mileage and shows no accidents.

Apart from some well-applied touch-ups along the lower front valance, paint is said to remain all factory and without visible flaws. A clear front bra has helped in this regard, and displays no evidence of shrinking or yellowing. Lift shots show the aerodynamics-enhancing undertray is also impressively clean, while suspension, brake and exhaust components present similarly well. Dark blue works very well on these cars, particularly when compared to the many red and even yellow examples we’ve seen over the years.

Optional Daytona seats highlight the well-kept cabin, and apart from some minor dash leather shrinkage near the gauge cluster it’s said to remain largely as-new. Tan leather with contrasting blue stitching complement the exterior well, Schedoni luggage, tool kits and owner’s manual are included, and all electrics including lights, switches and accessories are said to work as designed.

Underhood, the car’s 5.7 liter V12 looks nicely detailed and is said to start easily, idle smoothly and pull to redline cleanly as should be expected of a low-mileage, well-maintained example. The photo gallery below shows invoices for recent services. The 5,390 miles shown in the gauges close-up below accurately reflects current mileage and will have changed minimally between now and auction’s closing, as the car is driven.

The car’s color combination, options and excellent condition played a large role in the seller’s purchase six months ago, but they have since located a similarly equipped manual car and need to make garage space. The Fiorano package transformed these cars’ handling and was widely considered to be mandatory among the press, while the F1 automated gearbox had most of the kinks of earlier F355 systems ironed out by the early 2000’s. The seller notes that both suspension and transmission are in excellent condition, respectively offering sharp responses, a good ride and smooth, fast shifts.
