This 2009 Mini Cooper John Cooper Works was previously sold on BaT in November 2021 before it was acquired by the current owner in April 2023. It was subsequently modified with over $9k in performance modifications from mQuebed in Agoura, California, that include an RPM Power Tuning Stage 2 tune with an overboost option for the turbocharged 1.6-liter inline-four in addition to a carbon-fiber air intake, a revised intercooler, a ported stainless-steel downpipe, and various suspension components. Finished in British Racing Green Metallic over Carbon Black cloth, the car is further equipped with a six-speed manual transaxle, 17″ John Cooper Works Challenge wheels, Comfort Access, front sport seats, automatic climate control, and a carbon-fiber shift knob. Work in preparation for the sale consisted of performing an oil change along with replacing the front brake pads and sensors. This Cooper S JCW has 21k miles and is now offered on dealer consignment at no reserve with an Autel AutoLink scan tool, a car cover, a windshield sunshade, the removed factory catalytic converter, partial service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title.
The car is finished in British Racing Green Metallic (A67) with a black roof, fuel cap, hood stripes, mirror caps, and wheel arch trim. Exterior equipment includes fog lights, a rear spoiler, a rear window wiper, and twin central exhaust outlets. The previously warped hood scoop trim has been repaired, and black beltline trim was added under current ownership. A scuff is present below the left fender-mounted indicator.
Gloss black 17″ John Cooper Works Challenge wheels were mounted with 215/45 Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires in June 2023. Suspension modifications consist of Koni struts, lowering springs, adjustable rear camber arms, and a 22mm rear sway bar. Stopping power is provided by red-painted calipers over ventilated discs at each corner. The front brake pads and sensors were replaced in January 2024.
The front sport seats and rear bench are upholstered in Carbon Black cloth with checked inserts while piano black trim accents the doors and dashboard. Interior amenities include a center armrest, Comfort Access, cruise control, automatic climate control, a CD stereo, and a carbon-fiber shift knob.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames an 8k-rpm tachometer that includes a digital speedometer and driver information system. The centrally located 160-mph speedometer incorporates a fuel-level gauge, warning lights, and stereo display and controls. The digital odometer indicates 21k miles, approximately 3,100 of which were added under current ownership.
The turbocharged 1.6-liter inline-four is equipped with an RPM Power Tuning Stage 2 tune with an overboost option in addition to a carbon-fiber air intake, a revised intercooler, and associated charge pipes. A titanium heat shield and an aluminum coolant tank have also been added along with aftermarket spark plugs, motor mounts, and an oil catch can. The strut tower brace spanning the engine bay was power-coated black in May 2023, and an oil change was carried out in preparation for the sale.
Power is sent to the front wheels through a Getrag six-speed manual transaxle. A ported stainless-steel downpipe is installed, and the removed factory catalytic converter is included in the sale. The car most recently passed a California emissions test in February 2023, however, various aftermarket engine components installed are not CARB-compliant.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or damage and lists history in California with a gap in entries between November 2008 and September 2015.
