1978 Lotus Esprit S1
This 1978 Lotus Esprit is a Series I example that is said to have remained registered in California through the seller’s acquisition in August 2012 and is finished in black over brown and beige cloth upholstery. Power is supplied by a 1,973cc inline-four linked to a five-speed manual transaxle. Additional equipment includes pop-up headlights, dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors, electronic ignition, an aftermarket exhaust, 14” alloy wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, fixed-back bucket seats, and power windows. Service performed under current ownership included replacing the clutch, master and secondary cylinders, rear main seal, header, exhaust manifold, brake master cylinder, sway bar bushings, steering rack boots, and front radius arm mounts in addition to rebuilding the carburetors and front calipers. This Esprit is now offered with a Lotus Certificate of Vehicle Provenance, service records, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
1989 Chevrolet Camaro Race Car
This 1989 Chevrolet Camaro is a tube-frame race car that was built for participation in SCCA GT1 events before being campaigned in 1991 by Max Lagod and later by other drivers in SCCA and SVRA events. The car was acquired by the current owner on BaT in July 2018 and subsequently participated in the 2019 VARA Big Bore Bash and the 2023 Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion. Power is from a Chevrolet SB2.2 377ci V8 paired with a Jerico five-speed manual transmission, and the car has been fitted with later-model bodywork that wears a yellow and blue livery. Equipment includes 16″ WELD Racing wheels, plexiglass windscreens, a rear wing, an OMP racing seat, an Autopower safety harness, Brembo disc brakes, transmission and differential coolers, Penske adjustable coilover shocks, a limited-slip rear differential, AutoMeter instrumentation, a Momo steering wheel, a remote sway bar adjuster, and a fire suppression system. Service under current ownership reportedly involved overhauling the transmission as well as replacing the clutch, rear axle assembly, and engine valve springs. This Camaro race car is offered at no reserve on dealer consignment in California with logbooks, spare parts, and a bill of sale.
Manco C1 Corvette-Style Go-Kart
This go-kart was produced by Manco Products of Fort Wayne, Indiana, in the 1980s and features a fiberglass body in the style of a C1 Chevrolet Corvette over a tubular steel frame. It is equipped with a Briggs & Stratton single-cylinder engine with a pull-start cord, a centrifugal clutch, chain drive, a single drum brake on the rear axle, sidebar support padding, and 5″ wheels. This Corvette-style Manco kart was purchased by the seller in 2020 and is now offered at no reserve in Streetsboro, Ohio, with a bill of sale.
1997 Mercedes-Benz 510 Fire Truck 5-Speed
This 1997 Mercedes-Benz 510 is a double-cab dually fire truck that was imported from Germany to the US by the selling dealer in August 2022. The truck is powered by a 2.3-liter gasoline inline-four mated to a five-speed manual transmission, and its emergency equipment includes blue lights, a water storage tank, a Vanguard generator, a water pump, and a hose and reel. Storage compartments and racks, 16″ steel wheels, fog lights, mud flaps, patterned cloth upholstery, VDO instrumentation, and a cab heater are additional elements. This Mercedes-Benz fire truck shows 13k kilometers (~8k miles) and is offered at no reserve by the selling dealer with an operating manual and a clean Florida title.
2013 Ford Mustang Boss 302 Track Car
This 2013 Ford Mustang Boss 302 has been modified with a track-prepped cabin that houses a roll cage, Sparco racing seats, Safecraft harnesses, a quick-release Sabelt steering wheel, a fire suppression system, and a Coolshirt system. Further modifications include an aftermarket exhaust system, a Setrab oil cooler, and a Kenny Brown triple-pass radiator along with Apex 19″ wheels, revised suspension components, an aluminum driveshaft, a rear wing, and a front splitter. Power is provided by a replacement 5.0-liter V8 paired with a six-speed manual transmission and a Torsen limited-slip differential. The car was first registered in Nebraska and spent time in Arizona before it was acquired by the seller in 2019 and relocated to Minnesota. Air conditioning and power windows have been retained. This Boss 302 now shows 16k miles and is offered with a spare set of wheels and tires, programming control modules, spare parts, the removed catalytic converters, a Boss 302 ownership kit, and a clean Minnesota title.
1987 BMW M6
This 1987 BMW M6 remained registered with its previous owner in California for 32 years before it was listed on BaT in July 2022, and it was subsequently acquired by the current owner. Powered by a 3.5-liter inline-six paired with a five-speed manual transmission, the car is finished in black over gray leather upholstery. Equipment includes a limited-slip differential, a sunroof, a rear spoiler, power-adjustable front seats, cruise control, and air conditioning. Work under current ownership included adjusting the right door alignment along with installing Style 4 16″ alloy wheels and replacing the right-front window seal and the tires. This E24 M6 shows 84k miles and is now offered in New Jersey by the seller on behalf of the owner with a tool kit, a set of stock basketweave wheels with tires, a Carfax report, and a clean Montana title in the name of the owner’s LLC.
2019 Ferrari 812 Superfast
This 2019 Ferrari 812 Superfast is finished in Grigio Titanio over blue leather upholstery and it is powered by a 6.5-liter F140 V12 mated to a seven-speed F1 dual-clutch automatic transaxle and Ferrari’s E-Diff limited-slip differential. Equipment includes 20″ ten-spoke thin-spoke racing alloy wheels, four-wheel steering, adaptive headlights, parking sensors, a front-axle lift, Scuderia Ferrari fender shields, front and rear cameras, power-adjustable Daytona-style seats, navigation, carbon-fiber interior trim, a JBL sound system, and dual-zone automatic climate control. The car was initially delivered to Ferrari Beverly Hills in California prior to being acquired by the selling dealer in 2023 and now has 11k miles. This 812 Superfast is offered with the owner’s manual, a tool kit, two keys, a car cover, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title.
1965 Ford Mustang Convertible 289
This 1965 Ford Mustang convertible is finished in Ivy Green over a two-tone Deluxe interior, and power is from a 289ci C-code V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a beige soft top, 14″ steel wheels, faux-spinner wheel covers, GT-style exhaust finishers, a period-style air-conditioning system, an aftermarket Bluetooth stereo, and a wood-rimmed steering wheel. The car was previously sold on BaT in September 2020 and was acquired by the seller on BaT in March 2022. This Mustang is now offered with rubber floor mats, a top boot cover, and New York registration in the seller’s name.
BaT Auction Success Story: Working Up to a Carrera Targa
This Success Story comes to us from BaT member Kreloff, who won this 1989 911 Carrera Targa from mpgandco in a July 2023 BaT auction:
For as long as I can remember, I’ve dreamed of owning a 911. I grew up in a small town in southern New Jersey, and needless to say, Porsches were quite rare there. In fact, the only Porsche that I saw with any regularity was a silver and black 1972 Targa owned by a dentist named Myron Freeman. Whenever I saw the car, I imagined myself behind the wheel and thought about how great life would be if I had a 911.
45-Years-Owned 1973 BMW 3.0CS 5-Speed
This 1973 BMW 3.0CS was acquired by the seller in 1978, and it is powered by a 3.0-liter M30 inline-six mated to a five-speed manual transmission that was retrofitted in the late 2000s. The car has been refinished in metallic blue over a reupholstered interior trimmed in black leather under current ownership, and equipment includes air conditioning, a sunroof, electric windows, a Bluetooth-capable Kenwood CD stereo, four-wheel disc brakes, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and 14” alloy wheels. Work within the last year reportedly included refreshing the front brakes, re-chroming a bumper, and replacing the hood hinges, an air cleaner duct, the windshield wiper switch, and wiper motor. 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429
This 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429 is one of approximately 500 examples produced for the model year and was built one day ahead of schedule on September 29, 1969. Assigned Kar Kraft number KK2192, the car was delivered new to Hull Dobbs Company in Memphis, Tennessee, and is said to have been refurbished in the early 2000s. It is finished in Grabber Blue over Corinthian White vinyl, and power comes from a 429ci Cobra Jet Boss V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes the Drag Pack, a competition suspension, a front spoiler, power steering, 15″ Magnum 500-style wheels, a Philco AM radio, an analog clock, a Hurst shifter, a heater, the Convenience Check Group, and the Decor Group. This Boss 429 was acquired by the selling dealer in 2023 and is now offered at in Missouri with a window sticker, a Deluxe Marti Report, and a clean California title.
RHD 1998 Ferrari F355 GTS
This 1998 Ferrari F355 GTS is a right-hand-drive example that is said to have remained in the United Kingdom before being brought to the US in early 2023. It is powered by a 3.5-liter DOHC V8 linked with a paddle-shifted six-speed F1 gearbox. The car is finished in Nero, and modifications include a lowered suspension, red Recaro fixed-position bucket seats, and a carbon-fiber instrument cluster surround and floor panels. Retained factory equipment includes a removable black targa top, 18″ five-spoke magnesium wheels, Scuderia Ferrari fender shields, and pop-up headlights. This F355 GTS shows 9k miles and is now offered at no reserve on dealer consignment in New York with a September 2023 timing belt service record, manufacturer’s literature, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Montana title
2,100-Mile 2019 Porsche 911 Speedster
This 2019 Porsche 911 Speedster is #1,652 of 1,948 examples produced for the model year and was initially sold by Porsche Newport Beach in Costa Mesa, California, prior to being acquired by the selling dealer in 2023, and now has 2,100 miles. It is powered by a 4.0-liter flat-six paired with a six-speed manual transaxle and is finished in Guards Red over black leather upholstery. Equipment includes the Chrono Package, 20″ GT3 center-lock alloy wheels, carbon-ceramic brakes, a limited-slip differential, a front axle lift system, a black soft top, a carbon-fiber twin-hump convertible-top cover panel, LED headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS), Porsche Communication Management with navigation, a Bose sound system, carbon-fiber full bucket seats, automatic climate control, and a speed-activated rear spoiler. This 911 Speedster is now offered by the selling dealer with a front license plate frame, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title.
16k-Mile 2006 Aston Martin DB9 Volante 6-Speed
This 2006 Aston Martin DB9 Volante is powered by a 5.9-liter V12 paired with a six-speed manual transaxle, and it is finished in Onyx Black over Kestrel Tan leather upholstery. The car is equipped with a limited-slip differential, 19″ 15-spoke wheels, a black soft top, xenon headlights, heated power-adjustable front seats, cruise control, and automatic climate control, and it now has 15k miles. This DB9 Volante was previously sold on BaT in June 2023, and it is now offered again in New York by the selling dealer with manufacturer’s literature, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Montana title.
32-Years-Owned 1959 Dodge Custom Royal Lancer 2-Door Hardtop
This 1959 Dodge Custom Royal Lancer is a Canada-built two-door hardtop that is said to have been sold new in Windsor, Ontario and was acquired by the seller’s father out of Wyoming in 1991. Subsequent work from 1991 to 1995 consisted of performing a mechanical refurbishment and sheetmetal repairs, repainting the car in red and white, and retrimming the white and black interior. Power is provided by a 361ci Super Ram Fire V8 linked with a TorqueFlite push-button three-speed automatic transmission. Features include swing-out front bucket seats, a push-button AM radio, dual exhausts, an alternator, power steering, power drum brakes, and wheel covers. This Dodge is now offered by the seller on behalf of his father with email correspondence about the vehicle from a Chrysler Canada historian, a binder of refurbishment photos, service records since the 1990s, and a clean Nebraska title.
Single-Family-Owned 1967 Ford Bronco 289 3-Speed
This 1967 Ford Bronco wagon was purchased new by the seller’s father from Laramie Motors of Laramie, Wyoming, and it is powered by a 289ci V8 mated to a three-speed manual transmission. Finished in turquoise over white upholstery, it is equipped with a removable hardtop, a dual-range transfer case, manually locking front hubs, 15″ steel wheels, and an AM radio. The truck was in storage from 2004 through 2015 according to the seller, who notes that the interior was subsequently refreshed, the carburetor was rebuilt, the valves were lapped, and the valve lifters were replaced along with the pushrods. This Bronco is now offered with an owner’s manual, service records and receipts, and a clean Idaho title in the seller’s name.
1991 SAAC MKI Mustang Prototype
This 1991 SAAC Mustang was the fourth and final MKI prototype created by the SAAC Car Company, which was an offshoot of the Shelby American Automobile Club. The car was used as a press vehicle and was featured in marketing materials before it was sold into private ownership in October 1991, and it has subsequently been registered in Georgia, North Carolina, and Montana. It is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 linked with a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential, and it is finished in white with blue stripes over black leather. Prototype equipment included a Flowmaster exhaust system, a roll bar, revised brake ducts, and a Pioneer/ADS sound system with a CD stereo. Additional features include 17″ Simmons wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, a rear hatch spoiler, articulated front seats, and air conditioning. This SAAC MKI prototype is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner in North Carolina with memorabilia, partial service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Montana title in the name of the owner’s LLC.
1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 4-Speed
This 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 is powered by a 351ci Cleveland V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission and is finished in red over black vinyl. Equipment includes front and rear spoilers, power steering, 14″ styled steel wheels, yellow fog lights, front disc brakes, a Hurst shifter, and a Sony AM/FM/cassette stereo. A refurbishment is said to have been completed in 2021, and the seller acquired it in June of the same year. Work in 2023 included the addition of power steering as well as the replacement of the brake master cylinder and the rear brakes. This Mach 1 is now offered in Arizona with a Deluxe Marti Report and a Washington state title in the seller’s name.
Modified 2008 Subaru Forester Sports XT 5-Speed
This 2008 Subaru Forester Sports XT is powered by a turbocharged 2.5-liter flat-four that has been fitted with an STi-style turbocharger and intercooler, a Grimmspeed air intake, a Koyo radiator, aftermarket exhaust components, and revised ECU tuning and is linked to a five-speed manual transaxle and an all-wheel-drive system. Additional modifications include KYB dampers, Swift sport springs, Whiteline suspension components, 18″ Enkei wheels, Corbeau front seats, a Kartboy short shifter, and a Sony touchscreen head unit linked to aftermarket audio components. The car is finished in dark gray over black and gray upholstery, and service in 2022 reportedly included replacing the head gaskets, timing belt, and water pump as well as the valve cover gaskets, alternator, and air conditioning compressor. Acquired by the seller in 2021, this modified Forester has 137k miles and is offered at no reserve with a COBB Accessport V3, service records, a Carfax report, and a clean Texas title in the seller’s name.
