About

I am General Manager of International Relations at Canada Post Corporation, and Canada's Head of Delegation to the Universal Postal Union (a specialized agency of the United Nations). Here, I lead the negotiation and management of Canada Post's global postal and commercial business. Previously I served as Director of Regulatory Affairs. Prior to joining the national postal service I worked in government and Canada's national Parliament. I additionally served as an award-winning Professor of Political Science, teaching in: public policy, public administration, international relations and foreign policy, and government.

I hold a PhD in Political Science from Carleton University, MSc in International Politics from the University of London (Commonwealth Scholar to the UK), and BA in Political Science from the University of New Brunswick. I have executive training from Harvard University, and speak four languages. I have travelled extensively for business development and foreign direct investment attraction, academic and industry conferences, and for personal reasons.

My wife and I have three children. I am a competitive athlete in the sport of Judo, and am Chief Instructor of the RA Centre Judo Club and a national and international champion. I use my leadership role in Judo and at work to promote equity and character development, and promotion of inclusion in its broadest form. For over thirty years I have been an activist, columnist, and educator in areas including: promotion of diversity, enlightened citizenship, and fighting against bigotry and hate in all of its forms. I will talk to anyone, anywhere, anytime, about anything because I believe deeply that principled dialogue encourages the best outcome to any challenge.
