CHEVY

Whether you’re looking for a grocery-getter or maybe a cool cruiser, we’ve got a perfect Suburban solution for you.

To us, there aren’t many things in life cooler than an old square-body Chevy. And we certainly see and feature our fair share of older Bow Tie pickups. But rarely do you see a Suburban from this era, and that’s a shame, really. Many of us can appreciate a great-looking, rugged SUV capable of hauling our family, and probably half the neighborhood, too. And if you’re in the market for a very nice older Suburban at a reasonable price, we’ve found just the ticket right here in the Chevrolet Forum Marketplace.

This 1991 Suburban 2500 is most certainly one of the cleanest we’ve seen in some time. And it only has 111,000 miles on the clock, which is pretty low mileage for an older workhorse. That isn’t to say that the Chevy doesn’t need some work, but with a reasonable $4,800 asking price, that shouldn’t be a problem. If you’re mechanically inclined, we can’t think of a more appropriate use of your time, personally.

On the outside, this big old white Suburban looks to be in pretty solid shape. The body appears to be straight and rust-free, and it’s thankfully largely stock in appearance. The seller also notes that this particular Suburban has a drop-down tailgate, not a swing-open one. And that’s probably a good thing, depending on your personal preference.

Another big selling point of this Suburban is the fact that it packs a 454 big block V8 under the hood. So you’re getting a reliable and easy to work on engine. One that you can nab parts for on the cheap, or generate some serious power with if you so please. The seller notes that the engine “runs strong,” but the transmission is slipping and might need a rebuild.

Despite that, the seller has been using his big-bodied Suburban as a grocery-getter for a while. And truthfully, that’s probably what we’d do with it. Fix up the tranny, clean it up, and drive it. But whatever purpose this heavily utilitarian square Chevy might best serve for you, it likely won’t last long. So, head over here to scope out the entire ad and contact the buyer to try and work out a deal!
