The story of this vehicle was stated to have originally sold to a Chevrolet Corvair engineer who maintained ownership though the mid 1990's. It completed a professional restoration using period correct acrylic lacquer paint in the original color of Monaco Blue Metallic (code 914) returning it to show quality sometime in the early 1990s. It then sold for the first time in 1995 already restored to a collector in Sonoma County, CA. He enthusiastically enjoyed the car in the wine county for the next 9 years. It then traded hands to another Corvair enthusiast in approximately 2005. This enthusiast kept it for 10 years until 2015 when it was sold to its current owner through the St. Louis Car Museum. It has been meticulously maintained both mechanically and cosmetically! It continues to start with utter ease, and drive with perfect road feedback. All features & safety items remain 100% fully functional! Only 4 owners have been lucky enough to sit behind the wheel!
This is a real find for the right collector looking for a Covair with every original factory option available. The wheel option alone was a $400 option on a car selling for $2,500 IN 1963.
