Vehicle Description
This is a beautifully restored 1957 Nash Metropolitan 2-door
hardtop featuring the 1.5L (1,500cc) 4 cylinder motor and 3-speed
manual transmission on the column; also referred to as 'Three on
the Tree'. The vehicle has been both cosmetically and mechanically
restored and it shows. The car drives amazing, shifts smooth (for
what it is). It does not have any concerning noises and does not
excessively smoke on startup, on idle, or while driving. Visually,
this car is the star of the streets! Although small, its
eye-catching two-tone Sunburst Yellow and Snowberry White and
unique bodystyling catches the attention of everyone, young and
old, car junkies and otherwise. The car has been professionally
repainted after countless hours of bodywork to get the car's lines
as straight as a show quality vehicle. This is not saying the
vehicle is of concourse quality, however, it is an excellent
driver! Moving inside, the interior seats, headliner and door
panels have been fully reupholstered in black and white vinyl (same
style as from the factory without the Houndstooth fabric). The
carpets are close to being complete however, require some minor
finishing work. The floors would benefit from some undercoating to
prohibit rust from causing issues later on in the vehicle's life.
In the engine compartment, the motor has been completely rebuilt
professionally by a reputable shop. The transmission and all other
major mechanical components have been replaced, rebuilt, or
repaired as needed making this a very solid driver you could drive
anywhere without hesitation. The only non-functioning components of
the vehicle are the odometer and fuel gauge. The odometer stopped
working not long ago and all mileage since has been recorded on
paper. The fuel gauge should work with a simple reset of the float.
This is a rare opportunity to acquire a one of a kind vehicle in
one of the rarest colors produced!
