Vehicle Description
We should be glad for guys who love trucks like this 1984 Chevrolet
C10 Silverado, because they really care for their wonderful old
haulers and we get to pick them up for pennies on the dollar.
Showing only 79,325 actual miles and carrying a 5.0L V8 motor, this
handsome truck is an affordable machine that looks great and still
likes to work, and where else can you get this much charisma and
functionality for so little cash?
A full-blown survivor in every aspect of the word, this long-wheel
base Silverado is still wearing its original Midnight Blue and
White paint scheme that looks stylish and attractive even today.
There's just no way to make one of these trucks look bad, but the
two-tone paint job gives it a no-nonsense appeal that works whether
you want to use it as a hauler or slam it and run it as a street
machine. It does show a few signs of use, typical of a
survivor-grade truck with this mileage and age, but it was never
intended to be a trailer queen anyway, and the overall look is more
akin to something that should be considerably more expensive.
Everything's quite straight and with no deviations from the factory
recipe, including original badges and big chrome mirrors, it has a
handsome look that will always be popular with Chevy fans. Some
dealer add-ons were installed for form and function, including the
front chin spoiler, the bug deflector on the hood, running boards,
dual antennas, and the big, multi-window camper top on top of the
bed. And that camper top has really done a good job, because the
long bed is neatly presented and shows very little signs of having
been used for work. But it's certainly more than capable, so get
out there and haul something, will you?
Blue is the theme inside, too, where just like the exterior, you'll
find all original components and materials. The factory bench is
still wrapped in durable vinyl material, and it's in very good
condition with hardly any comfort marks. Matching blue door panels,
blue carpets, and an original blue dash pad are likewise nice
original pieces that all work together to give the truck a complete
look that's not dated and not worn out. The original steering wheel
hangs on a tilt steering column and all the gauges just beyond it
are bone-stock and clear as can be, so you'll find yourself at home
almost instantly once you slide behind the wheel. After all, hasn't
everyone with a driver's license driven one of these at some point?
The options list is long, including factory A/C (needs to be
serviced), power windows and locks, the aforementioned tilt column,
a CB radio, and even cruise control. The factory AM/FM radio is
still in the dash and still functional, and they were smart enough
to include a sliding rear window so it stays pleasant and
comfortable inside even on hot days.
The great thing about old trucks is that the come with V8 engines;
in this truck's case, it's still running its original 305 cubic
inch V8, aka the 5.0L block. Looking completely stock, it runs
well, delivering smooth power and torque without a hiccup. Pretty
much all of the original components were retained, including the
air cleaner, accessories, and even the original stamped steel valve
covers and air snorkel are still intact. All the original wiring
remains in great condition, and belts, hoses, plugs, wires, and
other components have been attended to under the care of a single
family ownership, although the truck has been sitting without much
use for the last couple years, so a quick tune-up might come in
handy before you set out on a long journey. The most notable sign
of maintenance is the newer exhaust system underneath, but even
it's still running a catalytic convertor set-up, so it's ready for
emissions in every state in the Union. The heavy-duty 700R4 4-speed
automatic transmission with overdrive still offers crisp shifts,
the power steering and power front disc brake system ensure a great
ride quality, and the big truck sits on a set of original Rally
wheels with trim rings and fat 235/75/15 white-wall radials.
Take this truck just about anywhere and you will undoubtedly hear,
"Nice truck," and get an approving nod. These were handsome
machines when new and today are gaining respect as collector's
items. With low original miles and only 1-family owner, this
well-equipped long bed is a wonderful example of a tough Square
Body that's very desirable on the market today. Call today!
