Vehicle Description
This 1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye has an awesome look on the
outside, a true muscle car interior, and an upgraded V8 and
suspension package that makes it terrific to enjoy.
The blue on this coupe comes from a respray later in life. They
gave it a much deeper tone then the factory Powder Blue. Plus, it
has a nice gloss that loves to show off the well-creased lines of
one of the most aggressive Mopars around. This one has all the
pieces you love, like the dual-scoop performance hood, wide quad
exhaust tips, and the Mopar road wheels. And the black contrasts
against the blue with some added aggression in the blackout grille,
matte hood stripe, full width rear spoiler, and blackout rear
panel. And the Rallye package gets the side fender trim that has
the unmistakable sporty strobe stripe package running down the
side.
All the black accents of the exterior get you ready for the clean
and complete full black interior. And while black always looks good
in a muscle machine, the darkness is nicely broken up by plenty of
wood-like trim. You get all the best driver-oriented pieces, like a
high-back bucket seat, Rally gauge package, sports steering wheel,
and center console with Slap Stick shifter. This all remains in a
preserved condition for those who like the time capsule style. So
while there are some inops, like the AM radio, it's nice to have
the proper unit on display. After all, it's a lot easier to replace
the original features you don't want than it is to try and return
original components to the car.
This was born a 340 cubic-inch V8 car, and so it's great to have an
era-correct block still under the hood. But while the history is
right, this engine bay has absolutely been given the right
investments and upgrades. That's why it's so cleanly presented with
the ribbed Mopar Performance valve covers and the bold orange air
topper w/callouts. And as you dig deeper, you'll also see added
power with the Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor and Edelbrock
Torker 340 intake. The newer stainless dual exhaust makes sure this
V8 fires up with a terrific throaty sound. And as you look at the
pipes in the undercarriage photos, you'll spot a tidy presentation
where you can see newer pieces like the bushings and sway bard
front & rear. So this drives with added confidence on the road. And
the three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and front
disc brakes all add to this great driver feeling.
The sale comes complete with a partial broadcast sheet. It's just
another one of those little vintage extras this Challenger Rallye
loves to deliver. So if you love a classic V8 Mopar, you know this
one is for you. Call now!
