Original survivor with only 41,791 actual miles. Only 3 owners, always stored in heated garage since new. Currently owned by an NCRS judge.

1st owner: On August 16th 1968 Joseph Evans, a Chicago stockbroker just finished a great week in the market and wanted to reward himself. His assistant's family owned Clark Maple Chevrolet in the Gold Coast of Chicago. Joe left the office early and went down to purchase the last remaining 1968 Corvette. He took delivery that day negotiating a $500 discount. He drove it straight home and gave his young son a ride. Joe cherished the Corvette and rarely drove it.
2nd owner: Phil Albue purchased it May of 1990 with approximately 35,500 miles. He also had a family and rarely drove it.
3rd owner: Len Besinger, a collector and active NCRS judge, purchased the car with 40,470 miles in October of 2016. He prepped it for the scrutiny of the Corvette experts and was rewarded by achieving the highest awards given to a Corvette.

EXTERIOR: All original. No hit, virgin body. It still has it's original lacquer paint. Of course it will have patina- some chips, scratches, mild cracking in the paint. It even has it's original convertible top. It's in great shape because it was down most of it's life. The optional hardtop was added to this car, consider it a bonus. The hardtop is also 100% original condition in very nice shape. The original windshield still has the 1968 Chicago city sticker. The license plate frames and the dealer plates are original from Clark Maple Chevrolet. The deluxe hubcaps are also mint originals but were added to this car. Underneath the hubcaps are the original rally wheels, the complete set of original rally wheel trim is included. Those are original NOS tires, not reproduction! There are pictures on our website showing them with the Good Year sticker and wrappers on them. All the chrome and trim are original. Original T-3 headlights. Original weatherstrips.

INTERIOR: All original inside including the carpet, door panels and upholstery. The original jack and handle is in the compartment. It has an original battery, not a reproduction, with the proper vent hoses. Every thing works including the original radio and the clock. The fiber optics are still working.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Not only is it the original numbers matching motor but every component is original right down to the belts. So many little items that I wouldn't know the difference like the wingnut, air cleaner lid and original filter (worth a couple thousand dollars)! Original smog pump equipment, original vacuum pump for the wiper door and headlights.

UNDERSIDE: All original including the exhaust, brakes, shocks etc. It has never been spray painted, it has all original finishes. Of course it has the original #s match 4-speed transmission and #s matching optional 3.08 posi rear end. The spare tire carrier and lock are original and the spare inside is the original that came with the car.

This is one of the most original vintage Corvettes in existence. You don't take my word for it, it's been certified several times. You can restore a car over and over, they are only original once!

I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail.
**These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded and you will be given a 1 year membership.
