Vehicle Description
This a really pretty Cadillac Seville Elegante out-fitted in 2-tone
Desert Sand Firemist over Briarwood brown with light tan leather
interior and tan carpets. The overall combination presents very
elegantly indeed. Being an Elegante, it has the upgraded trim with
all the optioned appointments. This particular Cadillac was
delivered new in Canada, spending its whole life in Toronto until
very recently coming to an Illinois collector. The body on this car
is quite straight. She is a clean, original rust-free example.
Looking under the hood and trunk is evident of its originality. The
car has been repainted at some stage (same colour) and presents
well for driver quality and use. There are some minor marks,
blemishes and chips here and there from normal use but overall
presents well. A good detail to include a light wet-sand, buff and
polish would make the paint finish look stunning, but rest assured
it presents well as is with no notable fading or cracking. To make
it clear, it is not of any show quality standard but presents well.
The interior of the car is in wonderful condition, even though is
shows some slight signs of age, it presents extremely well and the
leather is soft and supple. The door panels and arm-rests are good
and the faux wood paneling throughout presenting nice. Carpet is
excellent, headliner good and the dash is perfect without any
cracks. The dash fascia and instrument panel are in good shape with
nice chrome and switch gear. The steering wheel is not worn and
scuffed up as it appears on many. Interior features and functions
are operational including electrics - windows (4 side window
option), seat, gauges, lights etc. The A/C blows cold and heater
nice and toasty. Everything is generally clean and crisp. All the
knobs, centre switches, radio and surrounding bright-work finishers
are in good shape. Exterior chrome and bright work finishes are
decent but do show some pitting in various pieces; quite acceptable
for "driver quality". The grill is clean and straight. Exterior
lights and their lenses are all good. This is the 6 litre fuel
injected 4-6-8 engine which had its variable active cylinder
feature disabled to run as a V-8 only early in it's life. This
modification was done by Cadillac dealers to many of these engines
to improve performance. Unlike the later problematic 4100 engines
found in '82 through '85 Sevilles, as a V-8 this engine is very
reliable. Mechanically, the car is good condition and the clean and
original presentation under the bonnet clearly shows that. The
engine runs strong and the trans changes smooth. The front-end
feels tight and power steering light and smooth. Exhaust is good
and the Toyo whitewall tyres are relatively new with plenty of
tread. The cars shows 46,000 kilometres which is surely 146,000
klms and converts to 91,000 miles. This is an 8 out of 10 driver
example that would make for a gorgeous "weekender" - one that you
could take to your next Cadillac meet with joy. There are not many
left available in this condition. Please take the time to look at
