Vehicle Description
This 1969 Mercury Cougar XR7 428 Super Cobra Jet is one of one
confirmed by its Marti Report. The hardtop was ordered with the
R-code 428ci V8 Super Cobra Jet big-block engine and is backed by a
close-ratio 4-speed manual transmission option with the V-code 3.91
Traction-Lok rear axle. It came as a factory Ram-Air induction hood
model, with a functional scoop and hood pins. Ordered in one-of-one
color combination Medium Emerald Metallic paint complemented by
factory 8A black comfort-weave bucket seat interior. Additional to
the 428 SCJ package, it is also equipped with power front disc
brakes, power steering, SCJ special option rocker moldings,
console, hideaway headlights, courtesy lights, tinted glass and
Cougar-styled steel wheels with period-correct Firestone Wide-Oval
tires. This SCJ Cougar is highly detailed, right down to the
finned-aluminum valve covers and factory engine compartment Ram Air
components with correct decals and markings. The underside is all
correct with its original red oxide finish. Documented with its
original sales contract, invoice, owner's and warranty manuals and
two Marti Reports.
