Vehicle Description
This 1997 Lincoln Mark VIII LSC is a true modern classic. It is an
exceptionally kept example with low mileage and an outstanding
shine. And somewhere between the supple leather interior and the
confident ride of the fully independent suspension is that
exceptional cruiser feeling where you realize you've discovered
something special.
The Mark series is a true legend. Nowhere else did you get such a
balance of luxury, style, and individual spirit. And the final
version, the Mark VIII, was arguably the best showcase of them all.
It hides its long and luxurious style within curvaceous lines to
remind you that it can be both sizable and sporty. White is a
timelessly elegant color, but the factory Opal Opalescent Metallic
takes the sophistication up a notch. It's the factory application,
and it has the kind of appearance and luster you get from a
well-respected car that has traveled only about 2,300 miles
annually. And there are beautiful details that are thoughtful in
their design. The full-length pinstriping is done in a conservative
black and a sporty red to set the right tone for a Mark VIII. These
stripes not only highlight the great-looking profiles, but they
also show off the classic hint of continental kit curve in the
trunk. And the polished factory alloys give this Lincoln the kind
of brightwork you want in an American classic but in a modern way.
You may have also noticed this is an LSC -Luxury Sport Coupe -
level trim. LSCs received upgraded headlights, a color-matched
grille (instead of chrome), and a full-width tail light treatment
that includes a neon tube that lights the center section, to make
sure this one stands out even more.
The black leather interior is exactly what you want to see. It's as
timelessly tasteful as the pearl white exterior, and the pinstripe
on the outside is even a subtle hint of coordination. And what
really makes it impressive is the level of care that has gone into
this one where the seats are supple, the carpeting is plush, and
the overall impression is pure luxury. What also makes this feel so
inviting is the level of equipment. You have power front seats, a
power sunroof, power windows, power locks, cruise control, tilt
steering column, an anti-theft system, anti-lock brakes, dual
airbags, rear defogger, the premium AM/FM/cassette stereo w/CD
changer, and automatic A/C climate control. When you sit down in
the driver's seat, you'll be impressed by how the full interior
seems to be oriented around you like a sports car. But most other
exotics don't have the trunk space for your golf clubs and weekend
bags at the same time.
Under the hood is a terrific V8 powerhouse. InTech was Lincoln's
name for the 32-valve DOHC V8 shared across the Ford line. Oh yes,
this fuel-injected 4.6-liter motor is a close sibling to the
powerhouse that made the Mustang Mach 1 and SVT Cobra such
desirable cars. So you could even probably add some of the same
go-fast goodies from those other Modular V8s, but we really do like
the stock look of this powerhouse as it is today. After all, this
version is built to deliver its power smoothly, and that's exactly
what you want in a Lincoln. Out on the road, the fully independent
suspension and four-wheel disc brakes inspire confidence. And the
power steering and four-speed transmission with overdrive make it
an overall luxurious cruiser for trips near or far.
The sale comes complete with the owner's manual and maintenance
records. This was the last of the personal luxury Lincoln coupes,
but this one is so sleek and preserved that many people may not
believe it's ready for vintage plates. Call today!!!
