here is a stunning 1970 Dodge Coronet 500 Convertible. Painted in
the vibrant factory hue, Banana Yellow, and decorated with R/T
badges and a black Bumble Bee R/T stripe, this convertible is a
real head-turner. An older repaint, the finish was well applied
over professional bodywork. There are a few minor defects present
from age, however, the finish has been well-maintained and shines
with a nice luster. Correct R/T body accouterments were installed
during the restoration including dual hood scoops, body-side air
inlets, and correct taillight treatment. The black convertible
power top has been replaced and is correct and well-fitted. Front
and rear bumper chrome and related stainless trim shine with a nice
brilliance showing just some light patina. The tan interior is
present in overall original condition. The seat upholstery shows
some light sun fade but is free of any tears or seem pulls. The
door panels are complete but have some light water damage and the
carpet presents as recently replaced. As mentioned, this Coronet
features a power top, along with power windows, a driver's side
remote rearview mirror, a dash clock, and a factory AM radio.
Factory gauges monitor the engine temperature and charging system.
This vehicle was originally built with a 318 CID V8 but in
following through with the R/T tribute a 440 CID Magnum V8 has been
installed which has been updated with an electronic ignition and
tube headers. Under the hood is cleaned and presents as
well-maintained new coolant and fuel hoses and recent ignition
tune-up. Power is transferred through a 727 Torque-Flite 3-speed
automatic to the rear differential where power hits the pavement
via a set of 15 chrome Cragar SS wheels wrapped in Mickey Thompson
radial tires out back and BF Goodrich radial tires up front.
Underneath the chassis and suspension are unrestored but have been
well maintained with new front and rear gas shocks, PST tie rod
assemblies, pitman arm, and idler arm. This vehicle features power
steering and power brakes with front disc and rear drums. The
engine rumbles nicely with a performance tone through dual exhaust
with factory-style chrome tips. The chassis and floorboards are
clean and free of any rust through. There is nothing better than
the experience of driving a convertible, the sun on your face, the
wind in your hair, and not a care in the world. Could it get any
better? Well actually yes it could if you were driving a big block
Mopar with the throaty exhaust rumbling behind you! Please call if
interested or e-mail with specific questions. Thanks for looking.
