For Sale: 1959 Edsel Ranger in Lithia Springs, Georgia

Vehicle Description

Time heals all wounds because while this 1959 Edsel Ranger was not a financial winner for Ford, it means that today it's a rare and distinct classic. In fact, one of the reasons why these were legendary was because they were more expensive to produce than many other more expensive cars in the Ford family. The hood had to be specially formed to facilitate the now-legendary grille; there's an aggressive dipping "V" in the full-length trim; and the trunk is an intricate stamping that looks like two tailfins turned inward on their side. So we love it when these look so complete like this one is today. And while there were only about 7800 two-door Ranger sedans (model 64C) built, this strong runner shares enough Ford mechanical pieces to keep it a true cruiser for some time to come. So take some extra time to check out a rare, clean, and affordable Edsel.

The Edsel was a failure because it was such a short-lived project. But that's also why we don't tend to really call it a fiasco today. Ford lost a lot of money specially engineering a rarity like this, but as collectors, we covet its rarity and distinction just like a Packard (who happened to also go out of business in 1959.) So when you have an opportunity at a car that is this interesting, complete, and affordable, you know it's the ideal classic. So don't miss out, call today!
