Details
This 1998 BMW 750iL was built on a long-wheelbase platform and is powered by a 5.4L M73 V12 engine paired with a five-speed automatic transmission, delivering power to the rear wheels. This E38 generation 750iL is finished in Navarra Violet Metallic, which is a deep purple color, and is trimmed in a matching Lavender Gray leather interior. The luxury cruiser features a host of driver-focused assistance controls such as Dynamic Stability Control, a four-link rear suspension that is capable of self-leveling, electronic dampening control, and four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes. Amenities include power-heated seats and a steering wheel that is also heated with a tilt and telescoping capability. Cruise control and a moonroof are also included on this two-owner car that comes with a clean CarFax and is located in Manhattan, Kansas.
The third-party photos and inspection give a full picture of the fine condition of this V12 BMW. The purple exterior has only minor scratches that are commensurate with the age of the vehicle. The inspection does note that the seals on the exterior of the car are starting to show age. The interior of the vehicle is consistent in condition, with only minor wear on the upholstery and floor mats. The headrest motor on the rear drivers side is inoperable. Recent service was performed, including a new power steering pump, an oil change, new valve cover gaskets, and new brake fluid. The tires are in good condition with plenty of tread, and mechanically, the car performed as expected on the road test. Included in the sale are a medical bag, service records from the owning family, the original cell phone that came with the car, the owners manual, and 2 sets of keys
This BMW is being sold through a CLASSIC.COM Pro and is located in Manhattan, KS.
About the model
The top-of-the-line variant for the E38 BMW 7 Series was the 750iL. The 750iL, alongside its standard wheelbase 750i sibling, were the only E38 7 Series cars to feature a V12 powerplant. Initially, the 750iL was fitted with BMW's M73B54 V12 engine. This 5.4L engine generated 322hp and was paired to an automatic transmission which sent power to the rear wheels. For the 1999 model year, BMW introduced their updated M73TUB54 V12, which kept power and torque figures the same, but allowed the engine to pass emissions regulations. Production of the E38 750iL ended in 2001, although the model series continued life in the next generation BMW E65 7 Series.
