1970 Mach 1 "M" code - Nicely Optioned!

Listing No.: 50533

Model: 1970 Ford Mustang

Price: $69,900

1970 Mach 1 “M” Code

Acapulco Blue is one of my favorite colors. Maybe yours too. If you’re a fan of Mach 1’s here’s an opportunity to own one that is nicely optioned and ready for the road. The Marti report shows “Special Paint, Ford # unknown”. Many 1970 Mach 1’s were painted with “Grabber” colors (Blue, Orange, Yellow). Acapulco Blue was an exterior paint option in 1969, but not in 1970 unless specifically requested. The first owner ordered this 1970 Mach 1 painted Acapulco Blue, which is shown as a “Special Paint” option on the Marti Report.

Options include an “M” code, 4 bbl, 351 cubic inch engine, a rare factory Shaker Hood Scoop, Power Steering, FMX Select Shift Automatic Transmission, Black Hood Stripe, Rear Deck Spoiler, Sport Slats, Power Front Disc Brakes, Tilt Steering Wheel, Air Conditioning, AM/FM Radio, Tinted Glass, and a 3:00 to 1 Conventional Rear Axle.

The original radiator has been replaced by an aluminum radiator with extra capacity to keep the engine running at normal operating temperatures, and the cabin cool. An aftermarket, Shelby styled steering wheel replaces the original three spoke, which goes with the car.

The owner spent quite a bit of time and money dialing it in as a weekend toy, only to find he made a couple of mistakes in the process. The biggest was deciding to undercoat the floor pans to protect them from rust. If you’re like me, when you see undercoating you immediately suspect that the seller is trying to hide something. That isn’t the case with this one.

A comprehensive pre-purchase inspection (which we highly recommend) will reveal a solid undercarriage, including floor pans, frame rails, torque boxes and suspension components. There is no structural rust, only minor surface rust on a few spots which is typical of a classic Mustang used as a weekend driver. Interior, engine compartment, and trunk are clean and nicely detailed. Engine and transmission are in very good condition. Everything works as you would expect.

Call us with any questions, or to schedule an inspection of this beautiful Mach 1. It is located in Florida and is shown by appointment.
