Dry orange: 1972 Porsche 911 T/E 2.4 Targa

p1

This Signal Yellow 911 Targa (chassis #9112111659) belongs to the “E”series batch of cars produced between 1971 and 1972 also known as “external oil filter” or “oelkappe” because they had the oil filler on the right side soon after the door.

The problem with this solution was that a lot of incidents happened: many filled it with gasoline and so Porsche decided to remove that feature in the following model year called “F”.  This particular car is said to be a matching number car and it needs to be restored but, as you can see, it looks very dry and solid.

It has also a couple of beautiful and valuable Recaro sport seats, along with the original velour carpets but unfortunately the front bumper is missing: easy to find but not cheap at all if you look for a good quality spare. The engine is said to be the original equipment but the MFI has been replaced with a CSI injection. Lot of work here but the starting point looks good. Find it for sale at $35,500 here in Glendale, CA.
