Still prefer the original alloy designs though!

@ MTXM is that a gris dolmen V6 24V you posted a pic of?

looks just like mine, exept for the wheels that is. Lovely car.

but still, as this is a C6 alloy on XM tread... what about putting them on a Break?

If anyone wants higher profile tyres on an XM you can at the rear mount hub, bearing, disc and caliper from a CX and use 14 inch CX wheels with 195/70 14
I'm not going to, only suggesting.

I don't see the problem in having low profile tyres on one or two cars when I still have four cars with standard dim ;-)

Thanks Charles M and russ.

They are besides the roccastrada C6 rims one of my favorite alloy wheels. They are OZ superleggera/Ultraleggera. 18" on this car, I also have them in 17" I can look for a pic.
If i should say one thing against them they are a bit "open" so the discs look very small at the rear (not on this one however since I mounted break brakes at the bak ;-))

I like OZ superleggera/Ultraleggera on XM, the open spoke design makes the car look light and sporty.

I think the xm's on C6 wheels make the car look a lot younger than it is....it looks like a modern design rather than a classic, which just goes to show how ahead of its time the design was. You wouldn't get the same result from putting some big wheels on an old bmw 3 series.....

I like them on c6 wheels for an OE+ style mod look, but for me im a stickler for originality :)

One thing I can agree on is that the car does get away with having some of those newer wheels fitted. It helps that we have some great photos of great examples of the XM yet it is true how fresh the car looks. One reason for this could be that it was a design which was pretty carefully resolved. There really aren´t any elements which scream for revision. I have idly wondered if the car could have used a tad more chrome on the base of the window but it wouldn´t work because of the way the glass is uninterrupted by body-colour pillars. The car is also rich with Citroen references but subtle ones despite having an overtly modern form. Chris Bangle´s hated 5-series is still fresh today for that reason. It really is unfortunate the excellence of the XM is not more widely known. I do hope some curator at some design museum picks out an XM to show. What would the theme of the exhibition be?

Has anyone done the opposite and put xm wheels on a c6?
Assuming it would fit around the brakes.

I can photoshop to see Richard. Which alloys though?....

I think the only revision I would make to the XM design would be to maybe try a glossy finish to the door and window pillars. Make them blend into the windows a little more. Or with more modern technology, have the glass of the quarter lights cover the pillars to give a more seamless effect. But I totally agree.....it still looks fresh, and it just doesn't need updating.
The changes from mk1 to mk2 were very subtle. And that says everything really.
